Watch Groot and Rocket Come to Life in New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Featurettes

With over $768 million scored at the global box-office and a current hold of the number two spot for highest grossing movie of the year, there’s no one questioning the bonkers success of Marvel’s space-opera/comedy, Guardians of the Galaxy. While there was a lot to love about the film, the two things everyone was hoping would pay off more than any other element were that of the film’s two primary CG based characters, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. As we all know, everyone completely fell in love with both characters, Groot in particular, and now, thanks to Marvel, you can watch both heroes come to life in two all new featurettes. Check them out:

What we wouldn’t give to be in the room with Vin and Bradley as they recorded their various parts for director James Gunn. It seems so clear now why the characters resonate like they do. It’s because Gunn let his actors play in that booth and really tap into what those character meant to them. Especially in the Rocket one where it’s stated Cooper’s facial expressions were recorded for reference later on, that just goes to show the level of trust the team had in the actors they hired. They were so confident that even though they were just voices, they made sure Cooper and Diesel’s full performances were used at top capacity.

Now with the film hitting home video, the only thing we want to know is if we can build a time machine and jump to the May 2017 release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Surely The Collector has something we can use.
