Watch Disney World’s HOCUS POCUS Stage Show in All Its Sanderson-Tastic Glory

Halloween is technically six or so weeks away, but it’s never too early to start celebrating the spooky holiday. To that end, Disney Parks have kicked off their seasonal festivities that include Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The party (basically an excuse to go trick-or-treating) takes place in parks on both coasts of the United States, but the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando has something special: the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Show. Yep. The Sanderson sisters appear on stage at the Magic Kingdom with villains from several of Disney’s animated films. All of our dreams have come true.

Inside the Magic went to the first showing of the musical stage show and captured video of Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson brewing magic and interacting with characters such as Oogie Boogie, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. Disney takes care to choose cast members who look like the characters they’re playing, but I can’t get over how much these ladies resemble the Sandersons–especially Winifred. And oh my goodness, their bit with Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog is my favorite.

And it gets better! The arrival of the stage show means Disney is offering new Hocus Pocus apparel. The limited release includes costume t-shirts based on photographs of the Sanderson’s costumes from the Walt Disney Archives, “Sanderson Sisters Witch Museum” tees and hoodies, and more. They’ll be available from the Disney Parks online store from September 21-27.

Are you planning a trip to the Magic Kingdom to see the Sanderson sisters in action? Let us know in the comments.
