Angel Olsen released one the year’s best records this past winter with Burn Your Fire For No Witness, a country inflected rock album that explores her inner recesses with inimitably poetic language. And last night, she took to the Late Show With David Letterman to howl and coo a live version of “Hi-Five,” one of the many standout tracks from this year’s release. She comports herself as cool and collected, with Orbison-reminiscent vocal elevations, even as she is singing about the woes of isolation.
If you like what you see, be sure to catch the summer leg of her tour and her local stop in Los Angeles for the FYF Fest. And be sure to check out her stellar album, which is out now via Jagjaguwar.
