Watch a Whopping Five-Minute Extended Clip from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Now

Last night, the universe’s most dysfunctional fighting team, the Guardians of the Galaxy, appeared on the most lovably dysfunctional late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! Stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper took the stage, and joked with Kimmel about how Diesel — the voice of Groot, whose only words are , of course,”I am Groot.” — received more money per word than any actor in film history. The cast also unveiled a short clip of the scene in which their characters break out of prison. (If you watched the 17 minute sneak preview a few weeks ago, this may look a bit familiar.)

But if you’d like to see the longer extended clip featuring this scene, which debuted Monday night on USA during the network’s airing of one of the Fast and Furious movies, we’ve got it for you below.

Oh, if ever a film warranted the words “Shut up and take my money,” it’s this one. I love how the Guardians are introduced to each other, in the spirit of film classics like The Seven Samurai and The Dirty Dozen. Then there’s the hint that Yondu raised the young orphaned Star-Lord; and of course, Rocket not realizing he’s a raccoon. My wife wanted to dump me for Rocket before watching this clip, so now our marriage is definitely over…

Fittingly, since the very first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer debuted on Kimmel, the cast chose to appear on his show the night of their Hollywood premiere. We’re now a mere ten days from the film’s Friday, August 1st release date, and only nine if you count the preview screenings scheduled for Thursday, July 31st. Not too much longer until we’re all hooked on a feeling!
