Not to be outdone by the onslaught of Marvel-mania caused by the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. would be joining Captain America 3 in order to bring Civil War to the Marvel Universe, Warner Bros. dropped some major announcements at their annual shareholder’s meeting in the form of every DC Comics movie ever. Seriously, everything from Suicide Squad to Wonder Woman — all those superhero films we’ve been hearing rumors about — they’re all happening.
Kicking off their cavalcade of superhero cinema is Suicide Squad, rumored to be directed by David Ayer, coming in 2016. Following that will be a double whammy of the Gal Gadot-starring Wonder Woman and the first Justice League film, confirmed to be directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Amy Adams. Next up, we have The Flash, who will be played by The Perks’ of Being a Wallflower‘s Ezra Miller, in 2018. Also happening in 2018? An Aquaman film starring Clam Drogo, excuse me, I mean Jason Momoa. In 2019, WB is set to release Shazam (starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam) and Justice League 2, the latter of which will also be directed by Zack Snyder.Â
Then, last but not least, Kevin Tsujihara announced that we’ll be getting a Cyborg film starring Ray Fisher and a new Green Lantern film, likely in 2020. Will we still be alive by then to enjoy it? More importantly, will we see this seminal scene brought to life on the big screen?
Who knows! But at least, we can rest easy knowing all of these films are on the way.

Aug. 5, 2016: Suicide Squad
June 23, 2017: Wonder Woman
Nov. 17, 2017: Justice League
March 23, 2018: The Flash
July 27, 2018: Aquaman
April 5, 2019: Shazam
June 14, 2019: Justice League 2
April 3, 2020: Cyborg
June 19, 2020: Green Lantern
There’s no word as to a proposed timeline for follow-up Superman or Batman films; rather, Warner Bros. simply announced they’d like to do them. Still, I have to hand it to them for stepping up to the plate and putting it all on the table, especially since Marvel has been dominating the conversation as of late.

Really anxious to see Suicide Squad and Justice League. I hope the others are fun, at least.
First, there is nothing official about Cap 3 being civil war. In fact, the directors said so themselves.
I’m loving the comics golden age of movies. I just wish DC would decouple from Zack “emo” Snyder.
I predict disaster. They’re trying to keep up with Marvel without really understanding how Marvel was successful (building a proper foundation, casting stars with charisma that actually fit the characters, hiring directors who understand story, etc.). I love DC’s characters, but this production schedule is too much too soon. I predict half these movies don’t get made and finally cause that “superhero” backlash that everyone expected to happen several years ago but hasn’t happened yet because Marvel’s movies have been so good.
The Cinematic & Television Universes shouldn’t cross over
I heard that DC is planning on keeping the Movie and TV universes completely separate. I do not even think they plan on crossing over most of their TV properties. Arrow and Flash are in a shared universe because they are both on the CW. Gotham is on Fox and Constantine will be on NBC. You will not get inter-Network crossovers.
Think they misstepped on the Flash not being the TV actor. He’s nailed the part.
Unless Ezra is Wally West, otherwise, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t use Grant.
That’s what I’m hoping for. Making him Wally West and not Barry Allen is the logical play.
Maybe they’ll have Ezra play Jay Garrick as an intro to Justice Society… 😉
