Wait… You’re Saying Batman Isn’t Real?

This has been out for a couple of days, but let’s jump on board anyway. This trailer created by a fan (YouTube user themanbatman) poses the question: What if Batman was the figment of a broken mind? What if the whole Batman canon resided in the schizophrenia of one man? Christian Bale stars in… The Batman Complex:

It’s a clever editing of scenes from several movies, Batman and otherwise; good thing there’s plenty footage of Christian Bale losing his mind. There was a shorter version a few months ago, but this is a full-blown, more ambitious faux-trailer. If they really DID make this movie, I’d go see it.

  1. Ben says:

I love the concept that Batman is all just a schizophrenic break of Bruce Waynes mind. I could have done without the Inception part. I would see Batman the schizophrenic movie and read the comic!

  2. Alex says:

I wasn’t that blown away by it. Well made, and interesting idea. Then I remembered that this reminded me of the plot in Batman RIP, and I quickly lost interest.

  3. Burton says:

WOW! well done (the Machinist = great movie)

  4. Amrehlu says:

@Santiago You were, now go away.

  5. Santiago says:

Guess I’m the only person who thought that was pretty lame.

  6. Michael says:

What if all of Christopher Nolan’s movies were leading up to some “Marvel Avengers”-type epic, mash-up blockbuster?

    Mind sufficiently blown.

  7. shanz79 says:

Why no footage from Little Women or Growing Pains? Lol

  8. jills says:

Oh goodness they need to make this a movie. I would most definitely watch this.

  9. Nicholas says:

I was watching it, knowing it was a fan made trailer, but with every second I wanted it to be real. So. Badly! That is truly amazing. I shall rewatch it now for a while. That is seriously meticulous. The story proposed in it is astounding (someone should ask the creator what he had in mind for a full story).

And the Michael Keaton bit is hilarious.

  10. Kaitlin says:

AH! Favorite part is the use of the Fountain’s soundtrack.. ^_^

  11. tori says:

I was actually pretty excited about that even though when I was watching the trailer I knew it didn’t exist, but I kept thinking “no, it might be real..”

  12. PapaFrita says:

Goodness, they even used a shot from Equilibrium? Very meticulously made.

  13. Livius says:

I love all of these movies.
Interesting trailer, wouldn’t mind watching that.

  14. Pat says:

    Who /wouldn’t/ see this.
