Ubisoft Announces ASSASSIN’S CREED: ROGUE for Later This Year

Gamers still rocking last generation hardware will be following their own creed this holiday season, because a leaked Game Informer article has forced Ubisoft to spill the beans on Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, a brand new title set to hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Here’s a look at the announcement trailer released today:

Though Rogue is set to debut along side Assassin’s Creed: Unity, it will be a completely different game, taking the series away from the norm by having players assume the role of a Templar. The game will take place during the Seven Years’ War and will bridge the gap between Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed III. Expect to see a nice blend of Black Flag‘s naval combat and the icy snow settings from Assassin’s Creed III.

Happy to see the PS3 and Xbox 360 get some AC treatment withAssassin’s Creed: Rogue? Take a leap of faith with your thoughts into the comments below.

  4. I have one, single hope.  That voice over is misdirection, and this is a Haytham Kenway game.

Meh. Unity really has me interested to do some co-op, but AC3 is the only game I ever played where I was upset that I had spent 40 hours on once I had finished the story. I can’t get that time back and the amount of glitches and rubbish I had to deal with… so upset.

AC4 was not much better and frankly the amount of collectibles got to the point where it was just disrespectful. At what point did fun become being the trash collector of the Caribbean? One’s man’s quest to pick up shiny litter left by everyone else.

At one point I remember climbing a tower and it had two chests in it, right next to each other. I thought this isn’t good gameplay. Couldn’t they put all this trash in one chest? Am I supposed to have gained some fun b walking two game metres over to open another identical chest with unnoteworthy trinkets that were probably left behind for good reason?

I swore I’d never play another AC game after three. But they marketed 4 so well. I nearly finished it too. Got 80% of the way, had a save glitch set me back two hours in the story; and that was where my journey ended. I exited the animus.

Also I want to Assassins Creed, not Skippers Travels. I don’t care much for sailing. It’s great, if you love that thing. I found it to be a most basic mechanic. These are really rudimentary gaming systems that look pretty. Plus the fighting, if the game is going to revolve around so much fighting could we at least have the character we control have a move set as robust as a fighting game character. I want 40 plus moves, 80 would be nice. Variety, strategy.

    …

Sorry guys, just went a little rant crazy. I apologise. Never have I played a series of games before that I so desperately want to love but am placed with numerous obsticles along the way. Next year I’ll rant about Unity on the new sequels post.
