Uber and NASA are Teaming Up to Make Flying Cars a Reality

If you live in Los Angeles, Dubai, or Dallas, and never shut up about why we don’t have flying cars yet, you’re in luck! Uber and NASA are teaming up to make ride-sharing in the skies a reality.

Uber is looking to alleviate traffic and dominate another market by adding another dimension to transportation (literally). The company wants to offer rides in small, electric car/planes that would take off and land at rooftop city hubs by 2020. The panel is of course very different from what can’t-prove-he’s-not-Iron-Man Elon Musk wants to do with tunnels and rockets that could take you from Shanghai to New York in under 30 minutes.

Also on the show this week: Dan and I are breaking down China’s plans for a reusable spaceplane, we have the latest updates from the rapidly changing world of self-driving cars, and we build some hype for the reveal of Tesla’s raging electric semi.

Muskwatch airs on Nerdist.com and YouTube every Tuesday, but you can hack the planet and watch it two full days earlier on Sunday if you’re an Alpha subscriber. Find out how you can get 30 days free (and be 48 hours smarter than your dumb friends) right here.
