TV-Cap: Zachary Quinto Joins HANNIBAL, Darker Key Art for OUTLANDER, HBO’s Streaming Service, & More

Who else is watching The 100? I can recognize you because you have the look of a person who has seen things. The first part of the Season 2 finale aired last night and it was… harsh. I’m still in shock, but I’m going to pull it together long enough to share some key television news with you today. What sort of news? New darker Outlander key art, Zachary Quinto in Hannibal, photos from The Flash and Arrow, and so much more. Enjoy.

A New Path. Outlander returns with the second half of Season 1 on April 4. The show changed course over the first eight episodes, and to mark the change, they’ve released new key art. It’s a lovely play on the original poster that featured Claire torn between time, between her husband Frank and Jamie Fraser. The new art features her pointing a dagger towards Jack Randall (both Jack and Frank are played by Tobias Menzies) with Jamie at her back. It gives me chills.

Conflict and Shaking. The long awaited Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. midseason premiere aired on Tuesday, and it brought viewers right back into the action. The team has to deal with Trip’s death, Skye’s transformation, and so much more. Can I give them all a vacation to Tahiti? Or maybe Coulson would prefer somewhere else? They deserve a break. Gimme Game of Thrones! We finally have some details about HBO’s new streaming service. You know what this means, right? Those without HBO and access to HBO Go will finally be able to watch Game of Thrones and HBO’s many other fine offerings as they air without turning to other venues for getting the shows. International Business Times reports that the service, called HBO Now, will launch in April. That would be perfect timing since Game of Thrones returns on April 12. The price tag is expected to be $15/month which is a bit higher than I would have expected. [/Film]

The Weather Wizard Is Back. When The Flash returns on March 17, Barry Allen and the team at STAR Labs will have a new villain to deal with: The Weather Wizard. It’s actually a new Weather Wizard since Clyde Mardon died. This is his brother, Mark (Liam McIntyre), and he wants revenge on Joe. Also, Cisco starts to suspect Dr. Wells (thank goodness!). A New Patient. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) will get at least one new patient on Season 3 of Hannibal: Zachary Quinto. It has not been confirmed whether his guest-starring is only for one episode or if he’ll show up a few times throughout the season. [Nerdist]

No Strings On Me. The Author of the storybook is the most popular person in Storybrooke right now. Multiple people want to find him, and none deserve to more than Regina. Her, Emma, and Henry turn to Pinocchio for assistance in Sunday’s episode of Once Upon a Time. It makes sense given that the adult version of Pinocchio seemed to know so much about the book. Tip Your Top Hat. We learned last week that Lady Gaga will be joining to the next season of American Horror Story, titled American Horror Story: Hotel. Entertainment Weekly confirmed that creators of the series dropped an easter egg into Freak Show that eagle-eyed viewers could track to Lady Gaga. The October 29th episode, “Edward Mordrake (Part 2),” had a moment where the camera focused on a paper coffee cup with a top hat logo on it. Ryan Murphy told EW in October, “That is a big season 5 clue! It’s an arcane clue, but it’s very purposeful.” It turns out the top hat was telling viewers the theme of the next season and about Gaga. It’s a nod to the 1935 film Top Hat which is set in a hotel. “Cheek to Cheek” was written for that film and is the title of Lady Gaga’s duets album with Tony Bennett. That’s quite the meaningful coffee cup. [Entertainment Weekly]

Will He or Won’t He? The Flash isn’t the only CW show we’re missing. Arrow is on break until March 18, and Oliver has a big decision ahead of him. However, when he returns home to Starling City he finds a new villain in town. Michael Amar, a.k.a. Murmur, doesn’t speak because his mouth’s been sewn shut but still works with a crew of thugs to wreak havoc upon the city. Plus, Nyssa makes Laurel an offer. What do you think of the photos for the next episode of Arrow? Do you think Oliver will accept Ra’s al Ghul’s offer? Let us know in the comments.
