TV-Cap: What You Might Have Missed in the GAME OF THRONES Finale

I’m still firmly in the place known as, “Can you believe what happened in the Game of Thrones finale, yo?” Because “The Winds of Winter” was packed with details. We go over things you might have missed, and look forward to the next season in Westeros in today’s TV-Cap. I also have an update on DC Comics’ Powerless and Warner Bros. TV’s massive Comic-Con schedule.

The next few blurbs might have some spoilers for Game of Thrones, so skip ahead until you see the all clear if you want to avoid them.

Look Again. With so much happening on Sunday’s Game of Thrones, it was easy to miss the details. Jessica Chobot covers 12 things you might have missed in the latest Nerdist News, embedded above. [Nerdist]

But What About… Though the season six finale answered questions, it also left more than a few points unanswered. What questions do we have for season seven? Alicia has conveniently gone through them right here at Nerdist.

Was it a Formula? As mentioned, the season finale of Thrones was hella satisfying. It accomplished many points that propel the timeline forward and bring characters closer together than ever—hello, Dany sailing to Westeros. But how formulaic was it? James breaks it down.

You are now safe from Game of Thrones spoilers.

One More. This isn’t a spoiler, but it is related to Game of Thrones. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have confirmed what has been rumored: There are only 13-15 more episodes remaining. Yeah. That’s not so many. Benioff told Deadline, “It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now.” And 60 of those hours are already gone. Rats. [Nerdist]

Make Your List. Comic-Con will sweep into San Diego on July 20, and some studios are already rolling out their schedules. Though things may end up being light on the film side this year, television is covered because Warner Bros. is bringing basically all of their shows. You could just move into Ballroom 20 to see panels for shows like Supergirl, The Flash, and more. Supernatural, as usual, is the only series to score Hall H (which makes me sort of proud). Read WB’s complete lineup at TVLine.

Set Your DVR. Are you behind on your church schoolin’? Then get ready because AMC is kicking off a marathon of Preacher beginning Thursday, June 30 at 9:00p.m. ET/PT. They’ll roll the first five episodes with some behind-the-scenes footage. You can catch up and be prepared for episode six, airing July 3. You can also view the above video for an overview of what’s happened so far.

The Transformation. Season two of Daredevil featured Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, but he told Awards Daily that Frank Castle doesn’t become Punisher until the end of the season. He said, “The Frank Castle you find in this story is not The Punisher. He’s reeling from the loss of his family. He’s driven by rage and is on a singular mission to find these people who took his family from him, and do it as brutally as possible.” It’s a fine line, but I get it. You can read all of Bernthal’s thoughts on the subject right this way. [Comic Book Resources]

Something Different. I don’t know Vine well, but I know it’s good for hilarious animal videos and maybe other things. Those other things now include an episode of Brad Neely’s Harg Nallin’ Sclopio Peepio from Adult Swim. It’s the first long video on the short video app. You can watch the full episode on Vine right meow.

Happy Halloween? DC Entertainment’s newest series is an office comedy called Powerless, and though it’s focused on the regular folks living in a world with superheroes, the superpowered humans play a part. Hero Crimson Fox will appear, and we’ve learned the villain Jack O’Lantern will show up, too… because of course that’s a comic book character. You can watch the stars of Powerless spill the beans about Jack O’Lantern and others being in the pilot in the above video. [io9]

If you’re not into Game of Thrones, what shows do you have pumped right now? Tell me in the comments.
