TV-Cap: Watch Four Minutes of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’S Season 3 Premiere

The schedule is filling up. With ABC shows returning next week and The CW’s slate coming back the week after that, my DVR will be getting a workout. If you’re impatient like I am, keep an eye on the social media pages for your favorite shows because they’re starting to share more and more clips and images. Keep reading today’s TV-Cap to watch the opening scene of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s season three premiere, a clip with Emma and Merida from the Once Upon a Time season five premiere, footage from the first episode of season 27 (!) of The Simpsons, and more.

Aftermath. When season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended, Terrigen had found its way into the hands of the general public thanks to some tainted fish oil capsules. When the series returns with season three, we’ll see the consequences of that leak. The first four minutes of the premiere show how S.H.I.E.L.D. is dealing with the development, and I have to say I am quite intrigued. [Nerdist]

Choose Your Path. HBO is working with Steven Soderbergh on a new series that will incorporate audience interaction. Mosaic is essentially a choose your own adventure story, and the script will have multiple scenarios with production shooting multiple variations to give the audience options. It seems like a lot of work and money, but the concept is appealing. [Variety]

A Matter of Time. I feel like there are lists of television series from yesteryear constantly floating around studios for executives to make notes on. Whether that’s true or not, one show from the ’80s has passed muster. 20th Century Fox is looking at The A-Team. It’s in early stages, but the remake would put a modern spin on the the American Special Forces group and include female members (thank goodness). [Variety]

The Appeal of Homer. When The Simpsons returns on September 27 with season 27, things aren’t exactly perfect between Homer and Marge. And as they’re on the outs, Homer finds himself falling for a pharmacist named Candace (Lena Dunham). The above clip shows Candace explaining what she sees in Homer to her friends. [Entertainment Weekly]

A Professor and Ally. Legends of Tomorrow has cast Dr. Aldus Boardman, a professor whose life work has revolved around Hawkgirl and Hawkman and their tie to Vandal Savage. He’ll help the team of heroes find Vandal and stop him. He’s a new character — not from the comics — and Boardman will be played by Peter Francis James. [ComicBook.com]

Will O’ the Wisps Fight. We all knew Merida was coming to the season five premiere of Once Upon a Time in some way or another. A new clip from the episode gives her presence a little context, and it ends with her putting up her fists and offering to fight Emma for a Will O’ the Wisp. Can Merida be my best friend already, please? I love her spunk. [Once Upon a Time]

Don Draper Under the Seas. Jon Hamm is headed on a trip below waters with an upcoming appearance on SpongeBob SquarePants. Yes, I did type that correctly, and yes, we do live in a wonderful world. Hamm will be voicing Don Grouper, a head ad executive with a “sharp mind and devastating charm.” Perfect. The episode with Hamm will air sometime next year. [Nerdist]

An Agent and an Analyst. Legendary TV and Universal Cable Productions’ Poor Richard’s Almanack has cast its stars. Harold Perrineau will play Matt Monroe, an FBI agent, and Sam Jaeger will play Darwin Fischer, an ex-CIA field agent turned analyst. The two get wrapped in a conspiracy that threatens the entire country. [Deadline]

Deleted Heart-to-Hearts. Season one of The Flash came out on Blu-ray and DVD on September 22, and it has all sorts of extras including several deleted scenes. The CW has shared some of them on YouTube, and they remind me of the balance achieved in The Flash — it’s a tremendously fun series but also full of spirit. I’ve highlighted two scenes above and the second video with Barry talking to Cisco? My heart. And my leaky eyes. See more deleted scenes here at Nerdist.

Going Splat. Remember when we mentioned Nickelodeon might be launching a platform for their series from the ’90s? It’s happening! The Splat will kick off on Monday, October 5, and will be a programming block focused on the ’90s. Live-action and animated series from that glorious decade will air from 10:00pm-6:00am. Titles include Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Ren & Stimpy, and more. Is this what the #blessed hashtag was made for? [Comic Book Resources]

Don’t Blink. A new sizzle reel for BBC One’s upcoming slate has highlights from a few shows you might like: Sherlock, Luther, and Doctor Who. The catch? You only get brief glimpses. Don’t blink — you don’t want to miss anything. [Nerdist]
