TV-Cap: Watch a Trailer for LUCIFER, See First HEROES REBORN Photos, & More

I’ve learned a valuable lesson about not having any expectations today. It can be a challenge not to form an opinion about a new television series or film when we’re inundated with so many teasers, clips, and posters or art, but it’s possible. I didn’t have anything pinned on Lucifer so the trailer didn’t have anything to prove and it has me looking forward to the pilot. Keep scrolling to watch the trailer and see if you agree and while you’re there, take a look at the first photos from Heroes Reborn, find out about the official Orphan Black podcast, and view a featurette for Fear the Walking Dead.

More Special Skills. “Save the cheerleader…”–you know the rest. That’s the line I remember most from Heroes, and I’m looking forward to seeing whether Heroes Reborn will have an equally memorable catchphrase. The return to the world of Heroes will premiere this fall on NBC, and the network has released the first batch of photos. Jack Coleman returns as H.R.G., Kiki Sukezane is playing Miko Otomo, and Zachary Levi is Luke Collins. There aren’t any specifics about those characters, but NBC did say the 13-episode event series “will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season, where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities.” Do you think Miko and Luke are heroes or villains? A Role Reversal. The Author used his powers to change history in the Season 4 finale of Once Upon a Time. He made a new world with his book called Heroes vs. Villains where Snow White is the Evil Queen and Regina is basically Snow White. The switcheroo made for an entertaining story that pushed Henry into hero role, and it ended up leading to an ending that will drastically change lives for our primary cast in Storybrooke. I’m impressed. Read about all the exciting events in Samantha’s recap of “Operation Mongoose.”

Whodunnit No More. It’s been a solid 15-year (!) run, but sources are reporting that CBS has cancelled CSI. There hasn’t been any official word yet, but insiders tell Vulture a TV movie will wrap up the next season. [Vulture]

Lord of Hell, Nightclub Owner. The Devil is done with hell, and he’s decided to move to the City of Angels. The first trailer for Fox’s Lucifer introduces a very charming Lucifer Morningstar played by Tom Ellis. He’s happy to live the playboy lifestyle until his moral compass turns back on, and he offers to team up with LAPD detective Chloe Dancer (Lauren German). I didn’t have any expectations going into the trailer (I haven’t read the comics the show is based on), but I am completely in. I just need to explain to Lucifer how the Force works.

Clones In Your Ears. Not satisfied with Orphan Black on television and in comic book form? Then prepare your ears because Nerdist is the home of the brand new official Orphan Black podcast! The Clonecast features Orphan Black associate producer MacKenzie Donaldson and Rob Moden talking about the show and the fandom. Go listen to the first three episodes now!

Not a Whole Season. CBS handed out several renewals yesterday, but only one of their shows received a partial order. Deadline reports Person of Interest received only 13 episodes and since that’s what happened with The Mentalist before it was cancelled, Person of Interest could sadly be headed in the same direction. [Deadline]

Visit the Set. The outbreak in The Walking Dead begins somewhere, and we’ll see how it all starts to go downhill in the prequel spinoff Fear the Walking Dead. A new featurette from AMC features a look behind the scenes with executive producers Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd, and I’m happy to know the series set in L.A. won’t require catching up on The Walking Dead to enjoy. iZombie - Patriot Brains

Paintball and Murder. The deaths in iZombie happen to people with the most interesting occupations and hobbies, and this week, the body in question belongs to an instructor at a paintball facility. I can’t wait to see what the brain of an ex-sniper does to Liv, and also, I will be watching Ravi’s hair with extreme interest. See more photos from tonight’s episode at TV Fanatic.

Who else loved Once Upon a Time’s Season 4 finale? I think they set up some exciting possibilities with Emma. Tell me your thoughts in the comments or come talk to me on Twitter—especially if you also have Robin and Regina feels.
