TV-Cap: THE FLASH Season 2 Trailer, New Key Art and Series Regulars for THE WALKING DEAD

Jay Garrick is coming to The Flash. Sometimes I just like to repeat that sentence to myself when I need a reminder that the world can be an awesome place. Today’s TV-Cap has a trailer for Season 2 of The Flash featuring Garrick, a clip from the Season 2 premiere of Gotham, casting news for The Walking Dead, and more.

Field Promotions. The Walking Dead has a high turnover rate. It’s not necessarily because actors are having problems on set. No, their characters are just regularly killed. It happens. Headed into the Season 6 premiere, the AMC series is upping four more characters to series regulars: Lennie James (Morgan Jones), Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie Anderson), Tovah Feldshuh (Deanna Monroe), and Austin Nichols (Spencer Monroe). While you contemplate how their roles will expand, you can gaze upon the moody new key art that’s been released for the season. [Nerdist]

Big Apple Scheduling. New York Comic Con is just about a month away–it will take place from October 8-11, and the convention won’t have any shortage of Warner Bros. Television series. They’re bringing Gotham, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Person of Interest, and more to the event for talented-packed panels. See Warner Bros. Television’s complete line-up at Give Me My Remote.

Scary Comedy. If you’re going to have a horror-themed reality competition series, I’d argue the best possible host would be Bruce Campbell. He’s the obvious choice. Executive producers Craig Armstrong and Rick Ringbakk have managed to nab the King of Groovy for such a project; it’s tentatively titled Bruce Campbell’s Horrified. The series will be similar to King of the Nerds with a focus on the horror genre. It’s being shopped around to networks now. [Deadline]

Batman, Jeb Bush, Music. It’s official. CBS’s The Late Show is now in the very capable hands of Stephen Colbert. His first episode as host aired this week and featured guests George Clooney and Jeb Bush and music from well, many people, including Ben Folds, Brittany Howard, Derek Trucks, and more. You can watch the group sing “Everyday People” along with Colbert over here and watch the host’s extended interview with George Clooney above (he talks about Batman and Darfur).

Making Magic. This photo shared by Marc Guggenheim isn’t news per se, but it is an awesome picture. This is the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow doing a table read for the second episode of the upcoming time-traveling show, and I love seeing so many superheroes and villains from the DC Comics television universe in one place. How many of them can you name? [Twitter]

Two Sides. The Winchesters always walk a fine line as they go about the family business. In taking out monsters and various forms of evil, they have to be careful not to cross the line and become what they hunt. A poster for Season 11 of Supernatural shows they’re caught between darkness and deliverance, and honestly, it could go either way. [Nerdist]

Other Worlds. The Season 1 finale of The Flash will have consequences. The singularity they created opened a portal to other worlds, and in a new trailer, Teddy Sears’ Jay Garrick (GUYS!) shows up to warn the STAR Labs team about the impending threat to Earth. I have goose bumps. The Flash returns on October 6. [Variety]

Asking for Help. Fox is releasing all sorts of clips from the Season 2 premiere of Gotham. At this point, you can watch a quarter of the episode in out of order, out of context footage. In the latest clip, Jim Gordon visits Oswald Cobblepot to ask for a favor. Desperate times… [Comic Book Resources]

All the Episodes. In news that is not surprising but is welcome, AMC has ordered Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s adaptation of Preacher to series. The drama based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon will get a full first season. And to celebrate the news, Rogen tweeted the above key art. [Nerdist]

Trouble in Miracle. When things seem too good to be true, they often are, but it can be hard to resist the temptation of greener grass when times are hard. Could I fit more cliches in that sentence? I probably could have; you got off lucky. Anyway! A new trailer for Season 2 of HBO’s The Leftovers shows more of how the town of Miracle, Texas, with its zero departures might not be as rosy as it seems. Kevin (Justin Theroux), Nora (Carrie Coon), and Matt (Christopher Eccleston) are facing what looks like a violent future. The Leftovers returns on October 4.

Who’s planning to watch Preacher when it premieres? Raise your hand in the comments.
