Buckle in, because today is the opposite of a slow news day in the world of television. New Voices in Corona. Tangled: Before Ever After will bring fans of Tangled back into the world with a new series set between the film and the 2012 short called Tangled Ever After. The show will follow Rapunzel as she becomes acquainted with her family and goes on adventures (which she prefers over ruling or marrying Eugene). The animated series will debut on Disney Channel in 2017, and they’ve lined up so many royal voices.

We knew Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi would be reprising their roles, but that’s not all. Here’s the awesome list: Ashley Judd will play Rapunzel’s mom Queen Arianna, Eden Espinosa will play Cassandra, Jeff Ross is playing Hook Foot, and Richard Kind is Uncle Monty. Then there’s Clancy Brown as King Frederic, Sean Hayes as Pete the Guard, Steve Blum as Attila Buckethead, and Jeremy Jordon as Varian. Jeffrey Tambor, Paul F. Tompkins, and M.C. Don’t Go. With Steven Moffat on his way out as showrunner of Doctor Who, people weren’t sure if star Peter Capaldi would stick around after the new guy, Chris Chibnall, steps in. He’s apparently been asked to do so. Capaldi told Radio Times, “I’ve been asked to stay on, but it’s such a long time before I have to make that decision.” I, for one, would love to see Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor under different guidance. I’m curious. [Nerdist]

A Helping Hand. Craig Robinson (The Office) is joining the cast of USA Network’s Mr. Robot in season two in a recurring guest star role. He’ll play Ray, “a neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot in his time of need.” Since Elliot seems to always be in some state of need or another, Ray should be around all the time. Of course, reaching out could mean he’s selling Elliot drugs or something.

Going to Class. DC Super Hero Girls is making the jump from web series to television. The story about superheroes attending Super Hero High is heading to Boomerang on March 19 at 10 a.m. for an hour-long television special. They’ll be welcoming a new student: Supergirl.

Filling the Schedule. WGN America has placed two pilot orders, one based on a novel and one based on a graphic novel. Roadside Picnic is an adaptation of the alien story by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky; they have Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) on board to direct. Scalped will be an adaptation of the graphic novel by Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera; it’s a crime story that takes place on a Native American reservation. [Deadline]

He Gives Up. Ever since the end of season five of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington has been asked about whether Jon Snow is actually dead. Like, over and over. He didn’t exactly address that in an interview with Time Out London, but he did say he’ll back for season six… as a corpse. He said, “I know how long I’m a corpse for, but I can’t tell you that.” Clever boy. [Slashfilm]

New Danger Lurks Behind You. Disney XD is bringing back DuckTales (woo-ooo) in 2017, and they’ve released their first sneak peek at the series. As the image shows, the characters mostly follow the same model we know from the ’90s. There’s Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Scrooge’s housekeeper’s granddaughter Webby, and Donald Duck. Demonic Nightmares. Fox’s The Exorcist has snagged quite the lead in star Geena Davis. I know! She’ll play Angela Rance, a woman who is trying to keep her faith alive even though things are a mess and she’s having nightmares about a demon. [The Hollywood Reporter]
