Remember Sherlock? Yes, the series is still going! After a holiday special at the beginning of 2016, the fourth season has finally started filming. Read about that in today’s TV-Cap, along with some scoops from Ricky Whittle about drama on The 100, the arrival of Animaniacs on Netflix, the first look at Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters, and more.
About Time. Sherlock will eventually be back for a three-episode fourth season, and we’re getting a teensy tiny bit closer to the premiere because they finally started filming. That’s an important step. The first installment is being directed by Rachel Talalay. [Deadline]
You Look Blue. In case you’ve forgotten that we live in fine times, Guillermo del Toro has an animated series coming to Netflix. Trollhunters, a fantasy series focused on “two best friends who make a startling discovery beneath their hometown is unleashed,” will debut sometime in 2016. Netflix has released a first look at the series, and I’m definitely intrigued by the character design. [Slashfilm, Image: Netflix/DreamWorks Animation]
A Transformation. Grant Ward is Hive, and it looks as though he’ll show his true Inhuman skin on the next installment of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A promo for “Paradise Lost” (embedded above) hints at the transformation. [Comic Book Resources]
The Actual Worst. Game of Thrones has no shortage of terrible characters, but Ramsay Bolton takes home top honors. He’s been cruel and sadistic beyond belief, but we haven’t seen it all. Actor Iwan Rheon told Entertainment Weekly said we’ll see more sides of “complete scumbag” Ramsay in season six. Oh boy. Read Rheon’s comments right this way.
Pixels in Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil’s opening titles are all sorts of dramatic and beautiful. They’re sort of ominous, too. That tone changes with YouTuber doisDI Desenhando’s pixelated take on the sequence. It makes me want a Daredevil video game. [Nerdist]
It’s Time for… In the category of ICYMI, Animaniacs is on Netflix! Yep! You can enjoy the entire run of the wacky and great animated series with Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I’m excited for kids to be introduced to this ’90s cartoon. Raise your hand if the theme song is already stuck in your head! [A.V. Club]
To-Watch. Spring showers are on the way, and that means it’s time to stay indoors and binge all the things. Instead of watching your favorite show for the fifth time, why not try a new series? Dan has some suggestions in the anime category for you in the newest installment of The Dan Cave. [Nerdist]
Death and Darkness. It was an eventful Wednesday evening on The CW, and we have the recaps you’re looking for. Read Sydney’s thoughts on Arrow (learn who’s in the grave) and my take on Supernatural (Casifer is the best).
Warning: Spoilers for The 100 aheadâspecifically from the most recent season three episode, “Stealing Fire.” Avert your eyes now if you’re not caught up.
Some Serious Dish. The 100 has taken some interesting turns on screen this year, but apparently the drama is also brewing behind the scenes. Ricky Whittle appeared on AfterBuzz TV to discuss the death of his character Lincoln and opened up about all sorts of feelings regarding series showrunner Jason Rothenberg. Whittle said he was bullied and treated poorly by Rothenberg. It was Whittle’s decision to leave, but it sounds like he felt there was no other choice. His remarks about The 100 start 19 minutes into the above video. Rothenberg replied with a statement, which you can read here at Nerdist.
What do you think about all The 100 drama? Are you looking forward to more Sherlock? Talk to me in the comments.
