TV-Cap: PORTLANDIA Sneak Peek, an Action Packed KEY AND PEELE Clip, Recut ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, and More

Well hey there, readers! Hope you had a spooky Halloween weekend full of tricks, treats, creative costumes, and plenty of scares. Though we have to return to the ‘real world’ today, we’ve got plenty of television news to get you through it. From a look at Portlandia season 5, to the news that every season of American Horror Story is connected, to Game of Thrones cast negotiations, there’s plenty of small screen tidbits to start your week right.

But Where’d the Lighter Fluid Come From? If you were a little less than pleased with the long-awaited fourth season of Arrested Development that came to Netflix, you’re in luck: Mitch Hurwitz is cutting a chronological version of the season’s events. Given the nature of the now very famous cast members’ schedules, the revival of the cult comedy was a little jumpy, and featured character-centric episodes rather than one cohesive story line. Hopefully the new cut is just the first step in Hurwitz’ plans to make a fifth season and the eventual Bluth movie.

Game of Thrones Season 7? Many of your favorite Game of Thrones characters are locked in for season seven (if the show gets that far, which seems pretty likely) with a few raises to boot! Alicia’s got the low down right here: [Nerdist]

Strike Force Eagle 3: The Reckoning. Key and Peele are at the top of their game right now, and their spot-on recreation of every ‘90s action cliche ever is just one of the reasons this show just keeps getting better and better.  [IndieWire]

Doctor Who Series 8 Finale Part 1. This season of Doctor Who has been perhaps its most divisive yet. Though many are split on whether they like Capaldi as the Doctor, we can now look back on the season as a whole. Our resident Whovian Kyle Anderson has been reviewing the entire season, and his write up of the first half of the finale is a must read: [Nerdist]

Hello Ladies gets an HBO Movie. Speaking of canceled comedies, Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies, which ended after one season, will be returning to HBO to wrap up the characters’ story. Hello Ladies: The Movie will air November 22, 2014 at 10pm. Merchant fans, update your calendars accordingly. [The Playlist]

Portlandia Season 5 Sneak Peek: It doesn’t have to be Halloween for things to get macabre. In this preview of Portlandia’s fifth season, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are well-intentioned goths planning their funerals. I mean, doesn’t everyone want a scary, squeaky door noise as their friends and loved ones are trying to mourn? [EW]

Everything is Connected in Ryan Murphy-Land. Can you imagine if Glee and Nip Tuck tied in to the American Horror Story universe as well? With the announcement that each season of AHS is somehow tied to the others, theories have been running rampant on the internet. Are these characters dead and experiencing different circles of hell a la Dante’s The Inferno? Is it all in Pepper’s mind? Is it one big alien experiment? Only time will tell. [Nerdist]
