TV-Cap: ORPHAN BLACK Cast on Season 4 Mysteries

Season four of Orphan Black premieres on Thursday, and we are filled with all the anticipation. Any of you who might be in the same boat can get a fix in today’s TV-Cap with a new short video from the series and a discussion with the cast about the puzzles ahead. Also: get a recipe for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt hashbrown hashtags, learn about early screenings of the Preacher pilot, and more.

You Can Do This. Eighteen seconds. It’s impressive how much can be teased in such a short amount of time, isn’t it? A new clip from Orphan Black shows Sarah transforming her look and giving herself a pep talk.

Going Deep. Want to dive into the Orphan Black world for longer than 18 seconds? We have you more than covered. Our own Alicia Lutes visited the set of the sci-fi drama and talked to the cast about the fun ahead. Anytime the series answers a question, it opens up so many more—this means everyone has plenty to tease (without spoiling, of course). [Nerdist]

Why Wait? The first episode of Preacher is still over a month away, which is way too long. Since May 22 is so far into the future, AMC has kicked off a contest of sorts for super fans to score a screening of the Preacher pilot in their town in the weeks before the official premiere. They’ll choose four locations for the screenings and fans can make their pleas heard by using social media to explain why their town deserves early access. You can check out submissions by searching #PreacherFanScreenings and learn more at PreacherFanScreenings.com.

More Cuteness. Fox has given the greenlight to another season of New Girl. The show’s sixth season will join the network’s 2016-2017 line-up. [Variety]

Protecting Earth. Kara Zor-El is willing to do whatever it takes to keep our planet safe, and she might have to sacrifice herself in the season one finale of Supergirl, titled “Better Angels.” And by might, we mean she may be put in that position, but she’s the lead of the series so death is unlikely. A clip shows she’s going to have an intense face-off with Non. The episode will air on Monday, April 18. [Comic Book Resources]

Last Chapter. ITV’s Broadchurch is wrapping up with season three. Olivia Colman and David Tennant are set to return, but they’ll be joined by several new faces. This time Alec and Ellie will work together to look into a sexual assault in Broadchurch. Read about the fresh-faced cast members at Deadline.

Changing Imagery. The opening titles of Outlander are some of the most elegant on television. Beautifully framed imagery is accompanied by Bear McCreary’s arrangement of “The Skye Boat Song.” Season two of the time traveling adventure debuted last weekend and included a slightly updated version of the sequence with shots that reflect Jamie and Claire’s current Parisian lifestyle. They really make an impression. [Vulture]

Breakfast and Branding. Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt returns with new episodes on April 15, and what better way to celebrate than with Pinot Noir and some hash brown hashtags. Kimmy doesn’t quite understand the concept of social sharing and hashtags—she thinks it’s all about potatoes. If I’m being honest, that’s not a bad thought to have about life. Get the full recipe and instructions here at Nerdist.

Inhumans and Zombies. Tuesday night saw the exploration of Gideon’s background on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the electric two-part season two finale of iZombie. Read Joseph’s recap of “Paradise Lost” to find out about Gideon and Hive, and read my recap of “Dead Beat/Salivation Army” to find about the completely bananas twists in iZombie.

What are your predictions for the next season of Orphan Black? Let me know in the comments.
