TV-Cap: New FLASH/ARROW Crossover Promo Has All the Banter

We’re back! The Monday after a long weekend is never easy—it’s just a fact—but I’ll try to help make it a little bearable with today’s TV-Cap. Keep reading to catch up on the highlights from the last four days including a new promo for The Flash/Arrow crossover, a tease for Gotham teasing a Batman v Superman sneak peek, a trailer for Luther, and more.

From Above. Steven Moffat has his flaws, but sometimes he knows how to play the long game. This skill was apparently on display in the most recent episode of Doctor Who. If you’re all caught up, read Kyle’s review of “Heaven Sent” and then watch The Doctor Who Companion (our brand new live fan show) to get further analysis and thoughts on the episode. Yes, we have all the Who coverage you need.

Incredible Strength. The Mountain in Game of Thrones may be in less than spectacular shape, but that doesn’t apply to the actor who plays him. Hafthor Bjornsson is as strong as ever and has broken his own record for keg-tossing (it’s a thing). He threw a 33 pound keg over 23 feet in the air. The Hound is going to be so screwed if he’s alive and if he ever faces his brother again. [IGN]

Time for High School. Girl Meets World’s Riley and Maya are headed towards high school. Disney has renewed the Boy Meets World spinoff for a third season. [TVLine]

The Endless Debate. The fall finale of Gotham airs tonight, November 30, and it’s coming with an “exclusive sneak peek” of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That will surely help draw some extra viewers in. To tease the tease, Fox shared a video of the cast saying who they think will win—and I bet you can guess which way most of them vote. No Ninth. Watching the Doctor Who 50th anniversary was like receiving a warm hug meant for all of fandom. It featured familiar faces and some new ones, but there was a notable omission: Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor. Radio Times recently asked Steven Moffat about where Eccleston was. Moffat said he had him three-quarters talked into participating, but Eccleston ultimately said no. Moffat said, “His reasons are his business and he’s a very private man. But it’s reasonable to say he really cares about Doctor Who. He’s well versed in what’s happened since he left, and happily chatted away about Amy Pond by name.” Aww. Not so fantastic (that he said no, not that he was still watching the series). [Nerdist]

On the Trail. A new trailer for Luther proves at least one thing: No one walks in an intimidating manner quite like Idris Elba. He’ll be back on the case as John Luther in a two-episode special airing on BBC One on December 15 in the UK and on BBC America on December 17 in the United States. He’ll be joined by Rose Leslie, Laura Haddock, and others in the special. [Deadline]

Jabs for Everyone. When Oliver Queen and Barry Allen get together, it’s practically guarantee there will be snark. This promo from New Zealand for The Flash portion of The Flash/Arrow crossover has a hint of all the jokes to come. The crossover kicks off on December 1. [Nerdist]

Demon Hunter for Hire. New horror series South of Hell dropped on November 27 on WEtv. It stars Mena Suvari as Maria, a demon hunter with a demon living inside her. Clarke talked to Suvari about the character, and director Jennifer Lynch about the series. You can read their quotes right this way.

Action-Packed. The next episode of Supergirl, “Red Faced,” has plenty to keep Kara busy. She stands up to Cat Grant (it’s in the second clip above and it’s wonderful), and she meets Red Tornado and General Sam Lane. Whew. Never a dull moment and all that. The episode airs on November 30.
