TV-Cap: More ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT On the Way, Meet GOTHAM’S Ogre, & More

Do you ever think about how spoiled we are? My TiVo and streaming queues are overflowing with content I hope to have the time to watch, and the franchises I enjoy never really seem to go away. Reboots or retellings of older shows are announced on the regular, and shows apparently never end. Case in point: Arrested Development. The Bluth family is still kicking. Today’s latest and greatest news has more information on more Arrested Development episodes, a clip about Gotham’s Ogre, details about a new comic and television series from Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, and more.

An Attractive Ogre. A new villain is arriving to Gotham, and he presents a different kind of danger. The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia) preys on young women and when police start investigating the serial killer, he turns his attention to them and their loved ones. By going after him, Detective Gordon is putting Dr. Thompkins in danger but he doesn’t feel he has a choice. [Comic Book Resources]

Westerosi Infographics. Game of Thrones is anything but a simple show. The various plots and relationships are intricately woven together, and it can be confusing to try to untangle them. Luckily for us, designer Nigel Evan Dennis has used his skills to sum up various aspects of the series with beautiful, digestible infographics. See ’em here at Nerdist.

Casting the Past. It can be hard to remember that J.J. Abrams is working on any project other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but he’s producing an adaptation of Stephen King’s 11/22/63 for Hulu. James Franco is starring in the series about a teacher who tries to save the live of President John F. Kennedy. And now, tons of other actors have been cast: Daniel Webber (Lee Harvey Oswald), Cherry Jones (Marguerite), Lucy Fry (Marina), and Chris Cooper (Adaptation). Get the full list at TVLine.

More Money in the Banana Stand. Arrested Development co-executive producer Brian Grazer spoke with Bill Simmons at SXSW and dropped an interesting tidbit. He says, “We’re gonna do another 17 episodes. So, stay tuned for Arrested Development.” Grazer makes the comments near the 24 minute mark. He doesn’t specifically mention Netflix, but it seems likely that will continue to be the home for the series. [Splitsider]

Ready, Set, Binge! HBO NOW has officially launched. The network’s streaming service is available on iOS devices and Apple TV right now. You can try out the service for free on Apple TV in April, and then the ongoing subscription will cost $14.99 per month. [Nerdist]

One Smart Pill. Supernatural creator Eric Kripke is writing his first comic, and that comic is also going to be adapted by USA. Amped will be published by Vertigo, and Kripke will be teaming up with artist John Higgins for interiors and artist Brian Bolland for covers. The six-issue series stars “a neurotic family man who purchases a ‘smart pill’ online to give him a jolt and help him focus, only to discover it has imbued him with incredible strength and power.” Kripke says he’s incredibly passionate about the project and passion certainly doesn’t hurt. Hexenbiest Reveal! This week’s Grimm will see Juliette revealing her wilder side to Monroe and Rosalee. A preview featuring the big moment has a nice moment of levity thanks to Rosalee, but it’s still serious business. A clip from TV Insider shows the moments leading up to the Biest-ly secret. Titans Freaking Everywhere. Attack on Titan seems to be trickling into every form of media. You could go down a checklist. And now, that checklist will include a live-action television series. Dan explains in yesterday’s Nerdist News.
