TV-Cap: LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Casts a STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Actress

Happy end of the work week to those of you who are sleeping in tomorrow or otherwise doing lazy things. Me? I’m going to CatCon. Yep, it’s a thing. Anyway, before we get too in depth about our weekend plans, let’s talk some television news, yeah? Today’s TV-Cap has an update on who has been cast as Vixen in Legends of Tomorrow, a video from Pearl Mackie’s first day shooting Doctor Who on location, an extended trailer for season two of Mr. Robot, and more.

Animal Instincts. Maisie Richardson-Sellers, a.k.a. Korr Sella in The Force Awakens, is coming to season two of Legends of Tomorrow. She’ll be playing Vixen… well, a new version of Vixen. Her character Amaya Jiwe is the grandmother of Mari McCabe and draws her magical animal powers from the same Tantu Totem. Richardson-Sellers will be a series regular. [Comic Book Resources]

On Location! Pearl Mackie recently had her first day of shooting on location for Doctor Who, and she documented the occasion with a quick video. It’s cute, and I can’t wait to meet her companion in series 10.

A Doctor and a Scientist. Let’s discuss some other casting news, shall we? Gotham has added Mario Falcone, the son of mob boss Carmine Falcone, to its third season, to be played by James Carpinello. Mario isn’t joining the family business—instead, he’s an ER doctor. On Lucifer, Aimee Garcia will be appearing throughout season two. She’ll play Ella Lopez, the LAPD’s new forensic scientist. Another Doctor. I forgot one! Taylor Lautner is joining Scream Queens as a series regular in the second season. He’s set to play Dr. Cassidy Cascade, a doctor with “a strange medical condition.” [TVLine]

Leveling Up. Mr. Robot is punching it up for season two. The USA series will return on July 13, and BuzzFeed has an extended trailer. Fsociety needs to watch their backs. Also, the drama is getting bumped up to 12 episodes this season, it’s getting a two-part season premiere, and there will be an aftershow called Hacking Robot. We want all of it in our eyeballs now. Summer School. We’re less than one month away from the premiere of HBO’s Vice Principals. The comedy starring Danny McBride and Walton Goggins (as Neal Gamby and Lee Russell) will see two vice principals fighting for the newly vacant principal spot and also teaming up to protect it from another contender. The first episode has a straightforward title (“The Principal”) and synopsis: “When the principal of a high school retires, his two vice principals go to extremes to land the vacant job.”

Special Guests. Hulu’s Difficult People, executive produced by Amy Poehler, is coming back for season two on July 12. The amusing trailer shows hilarity and teases special guests like Nathan Lane and Lin-Manuel Miranda. [Deadline]

The Unburnt? Daenerys Targaryen of Game of Thrones has about five thousand titles and one of them reminds us that she is the Unburnt. She can walk through fire like it’s nothing, but could she be seared by the sun? Kyle H. explores the possibility in the latest Because Science. [Nerdist]

What do you think of the Legends casting? Are you ready for more Mr. Robot? Are you also going to CatCon? Talk to me in the comments!
