TV-Cap: Latest GAME OF THRONES Trailer and Clips Will Prepare You for Winter

You know how to survive a Monday? All you have to do to make the day fly by is watch the latest Game of Thrones trailers and clips over and over again. In fact, you can apply that advice to any day of the week. Check out today’s TV-Cap to see the latest from Westeros, to learn who’s been cast as a villain in Iron Fist, to get clued into when The Defenders will start shooting, and more.

The Real War. The dead are coming. The real war in Westeros isn’t about the families squabbling over the Iron Throne, it’s about the White Walkers who are ready to sweep into the south once winter arrives. That threat shines in the latest trailer for season six of HBO’s Game of Thrones and the footage shows a return to form for Cersei, some potential badass-ness from Sansa, and more. What do you think? [Nerdist]

The Only Thing that Stays the Same. Are you ready for even more of Westeros? Three new character-centric clips hint at what’s changing for a handful of major characters. The above video features Sansa and Theon as they flee from Winterfell after their leap of faith at the end of season five. See the other clips featuring Daenerys and Cersei and Jaime here at Nerdist. Remember, season six will arrive on April 24.

Wrapping Up. Showtime has announced Episodes, their comedy starring Matt LeBlanc, is coming to end with season five. The last seven episodes will air sometime in 2017. [The Hollywood Reporter]

On the Schedule. Marvel has a full slate on Netflix and in case you’ve forgotten, those shows are building towards a Defenders series. But when will get that group story? Speaking to journalists about the possibility of a third season of Daredevil on Monday, Charlie Cox mentioned they’d be shooting soon. “What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders.” That means it could drop in late 2017! [Slashfilm]

First Impressions. You’ll meet all the characters in AMC’s adaptation of the comic Preacher when the show arrives on May 22, but a new clip gives you some up close and personal time with Tulip. She certainly has a way about her, huh? [Comic Book Resources]

A Foe. Marvel’s Iron Fist has found a nemesis for Danny Rand. They’ve cast David Wenham as Harold Meachum. In the comics, Meachum is responsible for Rand’s parents biting it. We’re not positive how his story will play into the series just yet. [Nerdist]

Fuzzy Feelings. We’ve already seen a few photos from the Gilmore Girls revival, but is a few enough? I think not. Netflix posted a few more showing Lorelai and Rory at a kitchen table surrounded by Chinese takeout and Pop-Tarts, Rory with Emily, and a picture of what looks like a Stars Hollow town meeting. My heart. [Images: Netflix]

Table Talk. Vanessa Marano, a.k.a. April Nardini, appeared at the MTV Movie Awards on Saturday, and Variety asked her about April’s role in the new episodes of Gilmore Girls. She hinted without giving anything big away, saying, “April’s in college now, and she’s living the college life, so a lot of her life gets discussed at a dinner table with family members. I don’t know how much more I can say than that — it’s Gilmore family members.” Aww, they’re all one big family. [Variety]

Your Questions. Supergirl’s Mehcad Brooks stopped by the Nerdist offices on Monday, and Dan Casey used the opportunity to ask him five of your burning questions. Watch the above video and be entertained. [Nerdist]

Do-Over. If you’ve been missing MADtv, don’t sweat it because the series is coming back thanks to The CW. The network has ordered eight hour-long episodes and they’ve nabbed the original series’ executive producer to serve in the same role on this revival. Previous cast members will play hosts of the new episodes. [Deadline]

Replay. Did you watch new television after you replayed the Game of Thrones trailers and clips 5,000 times yesterday? If you maybe didn’t give your favorite Monday night shows your full attention, read our recaps of Supergirl (Myriad!), Gotham (Gordon and Nygma!), and Better Call Saul (Chuck!).

Do you have a countdown calendar going for the Game of Thrones season six premiere? How do you feel about April being part of the Gilmore Girls revival? Let me know in the comments.
