There are days when I forget how blessed we are when it comes to comic book series on television. Though there is room for improvement and more diverse series, we’re practically drowning in titles. If you added up every comic book-inspired series currently on the air, on the horizon, and still in development, we’ve got to be over 20 series or close to it. If any of you feeling like doing the exact math, go for it. While you make a list, I’ll drop some television news into your laps including news about four comic book shows. We have a look at The Atom in Arrow, some Fresh Prince of Bel-Air love on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Matt Murdock in Marvel’s Daredevil.

This Is a Story… Children of the ’90s, you’re about to smile. Remember when Will Smith stole our hearts in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and you memorized the words to the theme song even though you didn’t really mean to? Jimmy Fallon takes us back to those days with his “Fresh Prince” cold open that celebrates The Tonight Show’s week in Los Angeles. And yes, he gets an assist from some Fresh Prince cast members. It’s About Survival. USA Network has picked up a 10-episode season of Colony. The Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions series has Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal on board as executive producers and writers and focuses on a family stuck in a Los Angeles that’s occupied by outside intruders. Fingers crossed those intruders are aliens. [Nerdist]

Saying Goodbye. AMC’s The Walking Dead returns with the rest of season five this Sunday, February 8th. The survivors never seem to catch a break, and a scene from the midseason premiere shows a bleak landscape (duh) and a new mission. Watch the clip at The Hollywood Reporter.

Tiny But Mighty. As soon as it was revealed that Brandon Routh would be playing Ray Palmer on Arrow, fans got excited. It quickly became apparent they weren’t just using the name. No, Palmer was working on a freaking Atom suit. And now we have our first look at the finished product. He’s ready to fight crime and play football! Palmer will wear the suit for the first time on the February 25th episode titled “Nanda Parbat.” [DC Comics]

The Man Without Fear. Rest easy, citizens of Hell’s Kitchen. Matt Murdock may be a lawyer by day, but he’s a mask-wearing vigilante by night. The first tease for Marvel’s Daredevil shows a man who wants to make his city a better place. [Nerdist]

Horror, Outbreak, and Dead People. The CW has ordered a trio of hour-long pilots that sound like they’ll fit right into the network’s supernatural line-up. First up, a revival of the anthology horror series Tales From the Darkside with Joe Hill set as writer and executive producer. Um, yes please. Then there’s Cordon written and executive produced by The Vampire Diaries/The Originals mastermind Julie Plec. Cordon tells the story of Atlanta under quarantine because of a deadly outbreak. The worst things happen in Atlanta! The last series is Dead People by writer Tom Kapinos; it focuses on a cab driver who can see and interact with dead people. [TVLine]

Not So Much Teenagers. Remember how TNT and Warner Bros. are adapting DC Comics’ The Teen Titans for television? Don’t stress if you’ve forgotten about it. Months have passed since we had any news about The Titans, but finally, casting for the pilot is happening and we’ve got the scoop on Nerdist News about which team members are being included.
