TV-Cap: Jesse Quick Joins THE FLASH, LEGEND OF KORRA on Blu-ray, & More

Multiple speedsters are better than one, right? It looks like that’s the attitude The Flash is embracing for its second season, and I’m more than OK with that. Someone has to keep Barry Allen pushing forward and getting faster. Keep reading to learn about who will be playing Jesse Quick in the series, to see photos from the set of the boy band western zombie starring members of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC (no, really), to get an inside look at Ash vs Evil Dead, and more.

A Complete Set. It hasn’t been easy to watch The Legend of Korra. The animated series is one of the best cartoons and series in recent memory, but it was tricky to pin down the airing schedule. Nickelodeon pushed the show around all over the place. But, you’ll be able to catch up with a complete series release on Blu-ray and DVD. Korra co-creator Bryan Konietzko announced the news by posting his cover art for the set; no release date has been announced yet. [IGN]

Awww. I admit that I am not an Olicity shipper, but this photo of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) from Season 4 of Arrow is rather adorable. The couple took off at the end of Season 3 for a well-deserved break and maybe their happiness will last. Maybe. [TV Insider, photo: Dean Buscher/The CW]

Back in Town. Starz is bringing back Ash vs Evil Dead in style. The franchise has a lot of feelings attached to it–fans have expectations about the revival. I don’t have many concerns at this point, but if I did, a new inside look from Starz would make me feel reassured. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi together again? How can it not be fun? [Nerdist]

A Fresh Face. Outlander is officially and finally casting a certain character readers of Diana Gabaldon’s books will be excited about. That means if you haven’t read the books and don’t want to see any spoilers for Season 2 of the Starz series, you should skip right ahead. I’ll give you another sentence to direct your eyes elsewhere. All good? Good. They are searching for Brianna. She’s the daughter of Jamie and Claire, though she’s raised in Boston by Frank and has the last name Randall. She’s introduced in the second book Dragonfly in Amber and present throughout the series. Outlander’s character description says Brianna is “a young 20-something American who’s strong-minded, intelligent beyond her years with an effortless charm and sparkling sense of humor (traits inherited from both her mother and father). She also has a scholastic mindset, with a healthy dose of American strength, having been born and bred in Boston under the watchful eye of professor and historian Frank Randall.” Ooh. [TVLine]

+1 Speedster. The Flash is turning up the speed for Season 2. Besides bringing in Wally West and Jay Garrick, the lighthearted show will also add Jesse Chambers, a.k.a. Jesse Quick. Violett Beane has been cast in the role. Jesse will appear when she gets stuck in a fight between Flash and Zoom, which sounds like a prime situation for gaining super speed of her own. [Nerdist]

And Also. While we’re visiting Central City, this is a fine time to mention Malese Jow will reprise her role as Linda Park for Season 2. She’ll appear in multiple episodes. The Flash executive producer Gabrielle Stanton told Entertainment Weekly, “Linda Park will return as Iris West’s friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger.” But is it really that unexpected? [Comic Book Resources]

Ready for a Fight. Disney XD is continuing to release the origin stories of the team for their animated take on Guardians of the Galaxy, and it’s Drax the Destroyer’s turn. Voiced by David Sobolov, Drax is depicted as a bit of a softie sort of like he was in the film (though the animated series doesn’t use the same continuity as the Marvel Cinematic Universe). [/Film]

The Ultimate Showdown. The Clegane brothers have quite the history in Game of Thrones. There are a lot of unresolved issues between the two, but maybe they’ll get the chance to put their conflict to rest by beating each other up? Join Jessica Chobot on Nerdist News as she discusses the possibility of Sandor Clegane, a.k.a. The Hound, returning to battle Gregor Clegane, a.k.a. The Mountain.

Photographic Evidence. We briefly mentioned the boy band western zombie movie called Dead 7 this week, and if you thought a TV movie starring members of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC sounded too good to be true, prepare yourself. There is proof. Nick Carter, director of the movie, has shared photos and video over on Instagram, and it basically looks like my dreams. [So Feminine]

If you could choose any actress for the role of Brianna for Outlander, who would you pick? Let me know in the comments.
