Dear Hannibal fans: I know you’re feeling bummed, and I’m sorry. I hope someone will step into distribute Season 4 so the story can continue. Light Show. Remember the Super Bowl teaser for NBC’s Heroes Reborn? It centered on someone seemingly controlling the Northern Lights aurora and a newly released poster focuses on similar imagery. But we don’t just get a colorful picture, we have a premiere date for the event series. It will debut on September 24 at 8:00pm–paired with The Blacklist. We know basically nothing about the plot but will likely learn a few details at Comic-Con in a couple of weeks. And hey, Comic-Con presentations are fancy enough that maybe they’ll create a Northern Lights display of their very own. [Comic Book Resources]
Clearing the Plates. The third season of Bryan Fuller’s adaptation of Hannibal will be the last–at least the last one on NBC. The network announced they’re canceling the series but not all hope is lost. The producers of the horror drama are looking for another home for the series so they can get at least the fourth season out into the world. You can add your voice to the optimistic chorus looking for a future elsewhere by using the hashtag #SaveHannibal on social media. Fuller told TVLine he already has the general idea for Season 4 in place. “My idea for Season 4 was perhaps one of the coolest yet so I would love to do it in some capacity.” He continued, “It would have explored the Hannibal-Will Graham relationship in a much deeper fashion than the series ever has before.” Don’t stop believing… [Nerdist]
Marvel at This. Marvel Studios isn’t going to present at San Diego Comic-Con, but Marvel Television will be there in force. The company is bringing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and an animated series as well–including never before seen footage of Guardians of the Galaxy. The live-action panel will take place on Friday, July 10, at 3:00pm in Ballroom 20, and the animation panel will happen on Saturday, July 11, at 10:30am in Room 6BCF. Borg Transformation. I didn’t have to experience the first Star Trek cliffhanger, but when Star Trek: The Next Generation left the plot dangling with Captain Jean-Luc Picard turning into a Borg in “The Best of Both Worlds: Part 1,” it was a big deal. Up Next. Speaking of shows premiering soon, Season 3 of Showtime’s Masters of Sex will air on July 12. Changes are ahead because Bill (Michael Sheen) and Virginia (Lizzy Caplan) are publishing the results of their hard work, and the public is going to react. Sheen spoke with Deadline about the upcoming season and though he didn’t give anything major away, he did say Sarah Silverman will reprise her role as Helen this season. Yes, More Panels. Even though I’ve only been covering news about television panels at Comic-Con, I feel like the schedule is already full. And I would be wrong. Adult Swim and Cartoon Network have added their series to the slate of offerings, and it includes shows such as Regular Show, Adventure Time, Robot Chicken, and many more.
