Who’s ready for all the pictures and casting news? Good because you’re in just the place for that. Pull up a chair and read today’s TV-Cap to see images from the new Preacher, to check out the poster for The Flash/Supergirl crossover, to see Punisher and Elektra in costume and in action, and more.
It’s a Race. Sort Of. Barry Allen is dropping into National City on the March 28 episode of Supergirl, and though the poster for the episode suggests he and Kara will be racing, they’ll actually be working together to take down Livewire and Silver Banshee. Maybe there could be a mini race of sorts in there? [Nerdist, Image: CBS]
About the Gettys. The Getty family has an incredible amount of wealth and holdings (if you’re in Los Angeles, you’ve probably heard of the Getty Museums), and they’re going to be the subject of a new series from Danny Boyle. Trust will air on FX; they have a 10-episode first season. The series will center on John Paul Getty III and kick off in 1973 when he was a child and was kidnapped. [Slashfilm]
Back to TV. Anna Paquin will be starring in another drama on television, this time for ABC. She’ll lead the pilot Broken–executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Meaghan Oppenheimer–as Gemma, a divorce attorney with some sibling issues. [Deadline]
Oh Hey, Costumes. After saving the costume reveal in Daredevil until pretty much the last possible minute in season one, Netflix is putting Punisher and Elektra’s vigilante ensembles into the spotlight. We’ve seen them in a poster already, but the new teaser shows them in action. Season two of Daredevil is nearly here–it will arrive on March 18. [Nerdist]
“Real” Science. Some would argue that the MythBusters didn’t do “real” science over the course of the long-running series. Kyle has some thoughts about that and discusses some scientific papers Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman published. Go check it out.
Take a Good, Long Look. AMC has released a batch of photos from Preacher showcasing Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). They’re just quick glimpses, obviously, but the images show so much character. I can definitely see similarities to the pics from the comic book by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon . PS: If you happen to be at SXSW, you can catch the Preacher cast and creators at our Austin Saloon on Sunday, March 13, at 2:15p.m. [Nerdist, Images: AMC]
Prison Break Revival Update. The nine-episode revival of Fox’s Prison Break has expanded by two players: Augustus Prew and Rick Yune. Prew will play Whip, and Yune will play Ja. The revival isn’t on the schedule just yet though. [TVLine]
Finales for All of You. The CW has set finale dates for its slate of shows. Most of them are taking a bow in March. May 19 will mark the end of current seasons of The 100 and Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash will wrap on May 24, and Arrow and Supernatural will air their season finales on May 25. Get the complete list at Variety.
Looking Stylish. The upcoming Astro Boy reboot from Tezuka Productions, Shibuya Productions and Caribara Animation has a poster. It shows off the character designs for the traditional 2D animation tale. The 26-episode show doesn’t have a US distributor yet, but hopefully we’ll see it soon. Into the Details. So much happened in the new Game of Thrones season six trailer that it was easy to miss things–even if you slowed it down to watch frame by frame. Jessica Chobot breaks it all down in the latest Nerdist News and highlights seven things you might have missed. [Nerdist]
Are you fans of Preacher? What do you think of the first images? Let me know in the comments.
