TV-Cap: FLASH/ARROW Crossover Teaser is All About Vandal Savage

The Flash/Arrow crossover is less than two weeks away, Agent Carter will return in early January, and everything’s coming up Milhouse. Today’s TV-Cap has a teaser for the Flash/Arrow crossover highlighting Hawkman and Vandal Savage, the first promo for season two of Agent Carter, news about a love interest for Kara on Supergirl, information on a Mr. Robot marathon, and more. Enjoy!

Vandal Savage. The Flash/Arrow crossover coming the week after Thanksgiving will bring together the forces of Star City and Central City–no really, that’s their tagline. The event is being promoted with “Heroes Join Forces.” A promo for the upcoming two-episode event features Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) explaining the terribleness that is Vandal Savage to everyone. Chopping Block. FX has nixed Kurt Sutter’s The Bastard Executioner. The episode that aired Tuesday night (November 17) was the series finale. The cancellation wasn’t announced in the usual way though. Sutter took out ads in Hollywood trades and said, “The audience has spoken and, unfortunately, the word is ‘meh.’ So with due respect, we bring our anthology to an epic and fiery close.” That’s a refreshingly realistic take on the situation. Not Alone. Grodd came back to The Flash in the most recent episode, and the gorilla has become more intelligent. He wanted to find other apes like him and though his intentions were understandable, he took some drastic actions to get the attention of the STAR Labs team. Read Joseph’s review of “Gorilla Warfare.”

Camera Ready. Peggy Carter is moving to Hollywood for season two of Agent Carter. The show starring Hayley Atwell will return on January 5 (I already have the date committed to memory), and the first promo is making me grin. Peggy’s prepared to punch all of L.A., and I, for one, would be on board to watch her do it. [Nerdist]

Full Steam Ahead. A limited anthology series (they’re all the rage) from Max Landis and Nick Antosca has been given the go ahead from Syfy. They’ve ordered 12 episodes of Channel Zero. The anthology will air in two chunks: a six-episode season in fall 2016 and a six-episode season in fall 2017. It will kick off with Candle Cove in fall 2016 (during Syfy’s 31 Days of Halloween), a six-episode installment featuring a story based on creepypasta. [Deadline]

Catching Up. Whenever season two of Mr. Robot arrives, it isn’t fast enough. USA Network hasn’t announced a return date just yet, but apparently the writers have recently started working on what will likely be more twists and turns for season two. If you haven’t watched the series, tune into USA on December 29. They’ll be showing a 24-hour Mr. Robot marathon that will include commercial free cuts of the pilot and episodes 7-10. [Deadline]

Connections All Over. Former Glee star Blake Jenner has been signed on to Supergirl to play Adam Foster. The character is a stranger from Cat Grant’s past and will develop a “very unexpected connection” with Kara that probably won’t do great things to Kara’s relationship with Cat. And also: Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner are married. [Comic Book Resources]

Vinyl Cheer. When A Very Murray Christmas arrives on Netflix on December 4, it will be accompanied by the release of a special vinyl album on Amazon. Alone on Christmas Day will feature the single of the same name featuring vocals from Phoenix, Paul Shaffer, Jason Schwartzman, and more. This vinyl would be a delightful accompaniment to your holiday celebrations. Let’s hope it will also be released digitally for those of us without record players. [Nerdist, Image: Netflix]

More Dark Laughs. Noah Hawley has found success with Fargo, and he’s looking to work with FX on another twisted comedy. They’re developing Cat’s Cradle–as in that Cat’s Cradle. Kurt Vonnegut’s book is a sci-fi tale about the Cold War, and FX is looking to make it a limited series. [Slashfilm]

Threats. Cami’s not in the best of situations on The Originals. Lucien is threatening her, but maybe not all is lost. The Mikaelson family is having Lucien and co. over for a Thanksgiving gathering in the next episode, “Out of the Easy” (it’s airing on November 19), and though they’re aiming for a truce, that doesn’t always work out on this series. Almost never, actually. What do you think will happen with Cami? [TV Fanatic]

What do you think about the first teasers for this year’s Flash/Arrow crossover and for season two of Agent Carter? Let me know in the comments.
