TV-Cap: First GILMORE GIRLS Set Photo, Punisher Talks in New DAREDEVIL Tease, and More

It’s already a hopping week for comic book television. The Punisher talks in a new teaser for season two of Netflix’s Daredevil, there’s a clip for the next Supergirl showing Martian Manhunter pretending to be Kara, and there are photos for the Earth-2 doppelgangers who will be appearing on Tuesday’s The Flash. Catch up on all that and more—like the first picture from the Gilmore Girls set!–in today’s TV-Cap.

Alternate Life. Part of Team Flash is taking a trip to Earth-2, and while they’re visiting, they’re going to run into some stylish and evil doppelgangers. Photos from the next episode of The Flash show a dapper Joe, Iris, and Barry, and a twisted Caitlin and Ronnie as Killer Frost and Deathstorm. See more pics at Comic Book Resources.

Pursuing Hawke. CBS is moving forward with their sequel of 2001’s Training Day, and they’re going big. They’ve reportedly reached out to Ethan Hawke and asked him to come back as Jake Hoyt. I could certainly see Hawke doing what Bradley Cooper has been doing on Limitless–working as an executive producer and dropping in occasionally to play Hoyt. The character would be Deputy Chief of the LAPD. [Nerdist]

He’s Trying. J’onn, a.k.a. Martian Manhunter, has faced all sorts of alien threats, but can he handle Cat Grant? He’s stepping in as Kara Danvers in the next Supergirl, and it looks like he’s in for more than he bargained for. The episode, which is an adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s Superman story called “For the Man Who Has Everything,” airs on Monday, February 8. [Comic Book Resources]

To the Court! Teen Titans Go! is bringing in the stars for Turner’s All-Star Jam. LeBron James will take a break from the court to play himself and try to be a mascot in “The Cruel Giggling Ghoul.” [Entertainment Weekly]

Maybe Returning? In other news about an original cast member returning for a TV series sequel to a film, Sarah Michelle Gellar is reading the script for NBC’s Cruel Intentions pilot. She could play Kathryn Merteuil again; this time the character is fighting for control of Valmont International and the soul of Sebastian and Annette’s son. Huh. Sidenote: Does the mention of Cruel Intentions make anyone else think about “Bittersweet Symphony?” [Slashfilm]

A Bold Move. Netflix isn’t kidding around when it comes to Orange Is the New Black. They’ve renewed the series for three more seasons. Let me do the math–that takes us to season seven. Whew. I’m interested to see how they’ll keep prison life entertaining for that many more years. [Nerdist]

Galactic Preview. Disneyland’s taking a trip to ABC for a belated but still relevant celebration of the park’s 60th anniversary. Entertainment Weekly released a preview of The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60, and it’s all about celebrity guests and previews–including a preview of Star Wars land with Harrison Ford. I mean, I was already going to watch, but now I’m extra sold. [Nerdist]

Settling Debts. A new teaser for Netflix’s Daredevil features the Punisher speaking. He only says a single word, but that counts and is also fitting for Frank Castle’s personality. He’s not what I’d call verbose. You only have to wait until the March 18 premiere of season two of Daredevil to hear more of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. [Nerdist]

Back to Work. Michel and Lorelai together again! Yanic Truesdale shared the first photo from the Gilmore Girls revival on Twitter, and it shows he and Lauren Graham back on the Dragonfly Inn set. My heart. Also: though we know Liza Weil was coming back as Paris thanks to Kelly Bishop, the actress has confirmed she’ll be in two of the four episodes. [Image: Yanic Truesdale]

Did seeing Lorelai and Michel together again make your Monday? Did you like watching Martian Manhunter deal with Cat? Sound off in the comments.
