TV-Cap: Extended SHERLOCK Trailer, First Trailer for JESSICA JONES, and More

It’s Monday. Who else is yawning? Let’s shake off sleepiness and look forward. Kick the week into gear with TV trailers, photos, and news—something in today’s TV-cap will probably make you smile. Watch an extended trailer for the upcoming Sherlock special, see the first trailer for Jessica Jones, look at a photo of Killer Frost on The Flash, and much more.

Not Quite Christmas. The upcoming Sherlock Victorian-themed special won’t be here for the Christmas holiday. Instead, the 90-minute installment called “The Abominable Bride” will air on New Year’s Day in both the United States and the United Kingdom. A new extended trailer doesn’t give away much more of the plot, but it does have some different footage and shows more of the non-Sherlock and Watson characters. [Nerdist]

Onward and Backwards. Bryan Fuller is reaching back into time for his next project. He’s developing a fresh take on the anthology series Amazing Stories. The show previously aired in the ’80s and was produced by Steven Spielberg. Spielberg currently isn’t working on the reincarnation with Fuller and Universal TV, but he could come on board after the pilot. [Deadline]

Making a Connection. David Goyer’s Krypton television series will tie the DC TV universe to the DC cinematic universe. Krypton will serve as a lead in to Man of Steel; it’s set 200 years before the Superman film. During promotion for Da Vinci’s Demons, Goyer said, “We’re treating Krypton like it’s a historical piece. We look to previous cultures on Earth to model what that would be like.” [Nerdist]

Grab a Jacket. The Flash’s Caitlin Snow is familiar to comic book fans as Killer Frost. We saw a brief glimpse of Snow as the villain at the end of season one, and she’ll back in season two. Actress Danielle Panabaker debuted a photo of Snow as Frost during an appearance on The Talk, but she didn’t reveal how the character will become a baddie. The Multiverse is a thing on The Flash now, so my guess is the evil Caitlin Snow comes from another world. [Nerdist]

Visiting Again. The TARDIS hasn’t seen the last of Maisie Williams. The actress just appeared in two episodes of Doctor Who, but she’s not done for the season. She’ll be back as Lady Me in the tenth episode of season nine “Face the Raven.” [Nerdist]

First Look. Fans looking forward to AMC’s Preacher should tune into The Walking Dead on Sunday, November 1. The first trailer for the series based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon will air sometime during the 90-minute episode. [Comic Book Resources]

Step On In. Ash Williams will be back in mere days. Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres on October 31, but you don’t have to wait to see some of the deliciously bloody show. The first four minutes are available on YouTube, and it has Bruce Campbell in a girdle. And dancing. I was already sold on the series and now? I’m even more in. [/Film]

A Car’s Point of View. Supernatural has a history of getting experimental, and that word definitely applies to Wednesday’s episode. “Baby” is told from the perspective of the Impala, a.k.a. Dean’s Baby. I’ve seen the episode, and it’s unique, heartwarming, creative, and has the return of a beloved character. In short: you don’t want to miss it. See a gallery of images from the episode at TV Fanatic.

Setting the Tone. The upcoming Flesh and Bone from Starz dances into the world of ballet, and it’s not a pretty place. The drama looks like it will paint an intense picture about a fictional New York City ballet company, and the moody opening credits with their dark, rich colors and fluid imagery really set the mood. The show premieres on November 8. [Nerdist]

Meet Kilgrave. Teasers released so far for Marvel’s Jessica Jones have shown us glimpses of our lead character and introduced Kilgrave. The first full trailer for the Netflix drama shows just how dangerous Kilgrave is. He’s manipulated Jessica in the past, and he’s back to do it again. I love seeing the mature tone of the series and am so looking forward to seeing more of Krysten Ritter and David Tennant. Jessica Jones will arrive on Netflix on November 20. [Nerdist]
