TV-Cap: Deets on THE FLASH, GOTHAM Wins with Critics, and a Tasty New NETFLIX Series

Hello my favorite TV teletubbies! Ready to get your fill of the latest and greatest television tidbits? Then it’s time for the Nerdist TV-Cap! Your one-stop shop for the tiddiest of bitties out there on the Internet. And, well, today? Today’s a big day with lots to discuss. We are ramping up into fall TV season after all (♫♬ it’s the most wonderful time of the year! ♫♬) and so things are about to get…intense.

So grab a drink, take a seat, and get excited about all the new news that’s comin’ atchu in 5…4…3…2…

The Flash Cast Talk Dynamics at PaleyFest: Collider has helpfully provided a bit of a transcript from The Flash cast and crew’s appearance at this fall’s PaleyFest fall TV preview. There’s tons of interesting — and yes, even some spoiler-y ones — tidbits about the series, including talk about a love quadtrangle, so if you’re ready for all Barry Allen, all the time — get thee to the link! [Collider]

Gotham is Good: The Television Critics Association have spoken and their most promising new series? Gotham. Not that any of us needed another reason to get excited for it. [The Hollywood Reporter]

CHRIS PRATT 4 SNL: Over on Vulture, the brilliant genius Margaret Lyons suggested that Guardians of the Galaxy and Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt should host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live and ohmygoodness yes please DO WANT: [Vulture]

Inspirational Malcolm Tucker: Oh man now these? These are some motivational posters we’d hang in an office (if we had an office that we went to every day that wasn’t just “that desk in the corner of my bedroom”). Way better than a cat on a branch saying “Hang in there!” A+ job. [BuzzFeed]

Fall TV Preview: Our Managing Editor did a REALLY GREAT JOB WITH THIS (and I swear I wrote that, not her even though she’s probably editing this right now and shaking her head to herself saying “Oh, Alicia”). It’s a big ole round-up of everything that’s coming. See? IMPRESSIVE. Now GET YO CLICK ON: [Nerdist] (Editor’s note: Oh, Alicia. You’re a peach.)

Syfy’s Safe Haven: The fifth season of the series is all but here (September 11 at 8pm) and, as we know, it’s going to be a massive walloper of a series with 26 episodes instead of the typical 13. Naturally there’s HEAPS going on. Want details? Do the clicky thing: [Blastr]

Zachary Quinto Slaps Some Kids: No, really. The Heroes and American Horror Story star has been cast as a character who slaps a child that’s not his. Yeah. That’s the whole premise of the show — called The Slap, for real — apparently. Apparently Harry, (Quinto/the slapper) he slaps a real nincompoop of a misbehaving child (not his) and calamity ensues. O-K, NBC. [Entertainment Weekly]

New New Girl Trailer: Jessica Biel! Nakedness! Larry Bird? But not really? OK New Girl.

Speaking of Trailers…: Here’s an extended one for Once Upon a Time! [Nerdist]

Netflix Dreams of Docu-Series: OK, this one has “DO WANT” written all over it, you ready? The provider has greenlit a brand new docu-series (its first) called Chef’s Table, a six-part series from the director of Jiro Dreams of Sushi which, if you haven’t seen it, you should get thee to a Netflix account tout de suite because MY GOODNESS what an amazing documentary, I mean JEEZ. Anywho, set to premiere sometime in 2015, the chefs involved include some major heavyweights. Per the Netflix release, they are: Ben Shewry (Attica Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia), Magnus Nilsson (Fäviken in Järpen, Sweden), Francis Mallmann (El Restaurante Patagonia Sur in Buenos Aires, Argentina), Niki Nakayama (N/Naka Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA), Dan Barber (Blue Hill Restaurant at Stone Barns and in New York City) and Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy). CHECK PLEASE. [IndieWire]

Judith Light Sheds Some Light on Transparent: Ugh. I love Judith Light, you guys. I just f-cking LOVE JUDITH LIGHT you guys! (The dog and the person.) And also her new show Transparent on Amazon: “The gay community, I think, has taught us so many things about sexuality, and now I think it is the transgender community that is teaching us about gender fluidity.” [The Huffington Post]

The Newsroom, Getting On, and The Comeback All, Well, Come Back: HBO has assigned a single premiere day for all three of these shows (two of which are very awesome, one of which is fun to hate-watch): November 9! So get ready, and get set those DVRs, folks.

SO, are you on Team Judith or Team Judith? Let us know in the comments (Also: JUDITH!!!!)
