TV-Cap: CONSTANTINE Still in the Renewal Game, Photos from Nina Dobrev’s Final VAMPIRE DIARIES Scenes, & More

Since the Orphan Black Season 3 premiere is just a few days away, let’s talk about Clone Club. Whether you’re current on the series or just watching the first season, you probably have opinions about all the clones and have chosen a favorite. My top sestra used to be Cosima, but these days, I’m leaning towards Alison. Which clone do you find yourself bonding with? Tell me in the comments but on your way there, get caught up on the world of TV. See some sad-happy photos from Nina Dobrev’s last days on The Vampire Diaries, read about the Constantine canceled-not canceled mix-up, learn about Netflix’s new audio descriptions, and much more.

So Many Teary Eyes. Elena’s really leaving The Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev recently announced she’d be departing The CW series at the end of this season, and she’s almost wrapped – yeah, she’s already shot her last Stefan and Elena scene. She’s sharing some of her farewell photos with her fellow cast members on Instagram and while they’re a little sad, they provide a weird sense of closure. I’ll take it. [TVLine]

Adding to the Experience. Daredevil is seemingly having an effect upon Netflix. The streaming service is adding a layer to their offerings to serve subscribers who cannot see, and appropriately, they’re starting with Daredevil. That series and other select (read: limited) titles will have audio description tracks that give audio descriptions of facial expressions, scene transitions, actions — anything not being described with dialogue. Several Netflix original titles are slated to receive audio descriptions in the coming weeks. [Variety]

A Different Sort of Beast. Meet the Ogre. No, not the friendly kind like Shrek. Serial killer Jason Lennon was introduced on this week’s Gotham, and he seems as creepy as creepy can be. Learn more about him in Joseph’s recap of “Beasts of Prey.”

Not So Fast. Hellblazers got all kerfluffled over the past two days because they thought NBC was taking their John Constantine away. A reporter at Buzzfeed listed Constantine as being canceled and said she fact checked her post with each network. But take a deep breath, because NBC still hasn’t yet decided the show’s fate. Daniel Cerone, Constantine’s executive producer, released a statement to ComicBook.com and said, “I just received confirmation from the corporate offices at NBC. I was assured that Constantine has not been canceled and our pitch meeting to discuss a potential second season remains on the books.” He points out that it’s fair to say Constantine is a long shot, but the cigarette hasn’t been put out just yet. The Comicslist. James Spader is joining the world of comics soon as Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that won’t be his only run in with sequential art in the coming months. Titan Comics will release a comic book series based on Spader’s series on NBC, The Blacklist. I’m looking forward to seeing how Raymond Reddington’s delicious dialogue translates to the page without the benefit of Spader’s delivery. The amount of action in the series means it should certainly be lively. Writer Nichole Phillips and artist Beni Lobel will tackle bringing The Blacklist to comics and will tell new stories about familiar characters. The first issue will be out in July. [CBR]

Picking Writer Brains. If you think you’re over zombie television series, I urge you to check out iZombie. It’s charming, smart, and full of tasty-looking brains. I’m not being sarcastic about the tasty part. The series was co-created by Diane Ruggiero, and she dropped by the latest Nerdist Writers Panel to talk about it and more with Ben Blacker. Go listen.

Clones for Hours. Let me take another moment to remind you that Orphan Black is back with Season 3 on April 18. Yay! And since you might need to refresh your memory on the crazy clone adventures we’ve experienced so far, please note IFC is airing the first two seasons beginning at midnight on April 17. That’s one heck of a marathon, but you can do it. I have faith. [Deadline]

Leak Schmeak. You can’t keep a bad dragon down, and you can’t keep tons of people from watching Game of Thrones. Despite the fact that the first four episodes leaked on Sunday morning, the Season 5 premiere raked in more views than ever. Approximately 8 million households tuned in, and that’s a 17 percent increase over the Season 4 premiere. Yowza. [TV Fanatic]
