TV-Cap: Bobby Returns to SUPERNATURAL and Princess Leia Joins STAR WARS REBELS

Today’s TV-Cap is full of special appearances in the form of both guest stars and the return of familiar faces. Keep reading to learn how Jim Beaver will reprise his role as Bobby on Supernatural, about Princess Leia’s role in Star Wars Rebels, about Laura Vandervoort coming to Supergirl, and more.

To Me, She’s Royalty. Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels takes place in the years before A New Hope. Given that it focuses on the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance, it makes sense for Princess Leia to come into the picture. Her adopted father is one of the architects of the Rebellion, after all. She’ll make her first appearance in the series on January 20, and she’ll be voiced by Julie Dolan. At this point, she’s part of the Empire and sort of acting as a double agent. [Nerdist]

More Animals. The CW has given Vixen a second season. The animated series airs on the network’s digital platform CW Seed. The star, Megalyn Echikunwoke, will bring Vixen to live-action in an episode of Arrow this season, too. [Comic Book Resources]

Hello, Hollywood. We’re only a week away from the premiere of season two of ABC’s Agent Carter on January 19. I’m pumped! The locale is changing and Peggy will have new friends and enemies, but there will still be some familiar people in her life too. I broke down everything we know about season two so far.

Real Peace. The CW’s The 100 is anything but mild. The sci-fi drama has some of the highest stakes on television, and a new trailer for the third season emphasizes just how much is on the table in the episodes ahead. I can’t deal with the pain on Jasper’s face in the last scene. The show returns on January 21. [IGN]

A Possible Future. Fans of Hannibal are still mourning the cancellation of the NBC series. Bryan Fuller had interesting plans for the future, and Hugh Dancy (Will Graham) teased them while he was promoting The Path. He told Collider, “It was a complete restart, without describing it—because who knows, God knows, maybe some way we may be able to do it in the future—but it took us back to the first season in a very unexpected way, and made total sense of that cliffhanger ending; it seemed justified.” He also touched briefly on the idea of a Hannibal movie. One Supergirl to Another. Laura Vandervoort played Supergirl in Smallville, and now she’s coming to Supergirl as Indigo. She has a recurring role as the character who is described “as a living, strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton.” She’s a villain in the comics, and I’m curious to see how they’ll adapt her look. Throwing Down. What happens when the Legends of Tomorrow team travels to the ’70s and finds themselves in the middle of a brawl in a bar? The above video covers it. The main takeaway: Black Canary is awesome. The show premieres on January 21. [Deadline]

Jump In. If you’re waiting for Fox’s revival of The X-Files to hurry up and get here, you can get a taste of the series now. The first minute is available to watch at doyoustillbelieve.com. [Nerdist]

Mixed Messages. Frank Underwood might have smooth, prepared statements, but do his actions match his words? A trailer for season four of Netflix’s House of Cards reminds viewers just how cutthroat Underwood is by flashing through his many crimes. [A.V. Club]

Flashing Back. It’s happening, Supernatural fans; Jim Beaver will appear in season 11. This time he won’t be helping the Winchesters from the other side of death. Instead, he’ll show up in a flashback alongside Steven Williams’ Rufus. The episode will go back to a case that took place in season five. [TVLine]
