TV-Cap: BATTLEBOTS Return, Live Action LEGEND OF ZELDA, A Possible GREEN LANTERN on ARROW & More

Another Monday, another morning after an awards show. I admit I rarely tune into awards shows because I’ve found a better way to enjoy them. I prefer to watch Twitter watch the award shows. My feed fills up with pictures, gifs, snark, and compliments, and I can check in occasionally to catch the highlights rather than committing myself to a three hour ceremony. Try it sometime!

But, since it’s a little while before the next awards show, go ahead and take a minute to catch up on some television news. The latest includes Netflix’s talk about picking up a live-action Legend of Zelda series, a trailer for the return of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the BattleBots comeback.

It’s Not Dangerous To Go Alone. Could it be true? Will we be seeing the world of The Legend to Zelda brought to life in a live-action television series? Netflix is working with Nintendo to do just that, and I am drooling over the possibilities. I’ve only played the N64 version of the game, but I know the world of Zelda is a rich one abounding with opportunity. Take all my rupees, Netflix! [Nerdist]

Real Talk with Diggle. Arrow’s David Ramsey (John Diggle) recently spoke with ComicBook.com about what’s ahead for his character. He discusses Diggle working with the Suicide Squad and drops another tease. When discussing whether Diggle needs a mask (and he SO does) and whether he could be the Green Lantern known as John Stewart, Ramsey says, “Is John Diggle John Stewart? I cannot say yes and cannot say no.” Tease! Read the entire interview at ComicBook.com.

That Other Agent Show. While I’ve been enjoying the heck out of Marvel’s Agent Carter, the series will wrap up soon and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return on March 3rd. When we last saw the team, Skye learned something very important about herself and it looks like that discovery will take an intense turn in the midseason premiere. Watch the trailer right here on Nerdist.

Bloody Witches. Another teaser for Season 2 of WGN’s Salem gets as bizarre. Like, to a crazy degree. You probably don’t expect anything less from this series. A side effect of the teaser is that you might feel like avoiding bathtubs forever. Salem returns on April 5th. [Deadline]

Hardy Has Gone Too Far. Ryan Hardy has made a mess of everything while pursuing Joe Carroll, and it’s time to pay the piper. When Season 3 of The Following premieres on March 2nd, Carroll will have to face the consequences. A short teaser hints at the deep water the former FBI agent is in. Watch it at TVLine.

Get Ready To Rumble. Hold on to your robotics, everyone, because BattleBots is coming back. The series that’s like wrestling but with science and engineering will return to ABC for a 6-episode run this summer. How can we get front row seats? [Nerdist]

A Slight Delay. If you have the Season 2 premiere of Penny Dreadful marked on your calendar, take note: It’s moving. The season was set to debut on April 26th but has now been pushed back until May 3rd. [Variety]
