It doesn’t seem like it should be possible, but I’m already feeling overwhelmed by the Comic-Con schedule and the convention hasn’t even posted their full line-up yet! Several studios have shared their plans though, and manâso many panels, so little time. Learn about panels for The Walking Dead and Heroes Reborn in today’s TV-Cap, get the latest on American Gods, see the Game of Thrones Season 5 finale ratings numbers, and more.
So that's a YES, then. Here you go.

Old vs. New. Hold on American Gods fans because Starz is finally moving forward with their adaptation of the book by Neil Gaiman. Ahhhh! It’s been a long wait, but production is set to begin soon with Bryan Fuller and Michael Green at the helm. They just need to find the person who will play Shadow Moon, and they’re engaging with fans by asking for their thoughts on casting. You just need to use the hashtag #CastingShadow on Twitter and mention your top pick. [Nerdist]
Dragon-Sized Ratings. In case you haven’t heard, the Game of Thrones Season 5 finale was pretty exciting. In Game of Thrones terms, exciting means heartbreaking. The episode garnered the series its highest ratings so far. Variety reports Nielsen’s “live plus same-day” estimate is at 8.11 million viewers. That’s a bump up from the previous series high of 8 million from the Season 5 premiere. Not too shabby. [Variety]
Off to See the Wizard. NBC’s Emerald City has found its Dorothy. The series is a 10-episode adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s novels, and I’m using the word adaptation loosely. There are 14 novels; it’s going to be impossible to pack everything in. Anyway! Adria Arjona (True Detective) will play Dorothy. In the series, the character and her K9 police dog are transported to the Land of Oz. [TVLine]

More to Learn. It’s almost time to get another glimpse at Heroes Reborn. The upcoming event series is coming to Comic-Con, specifically to Hall H. You may as well just plan to sleep in the giant room at this point–except, actually, they won’t let you do that. NBC will bring a new trailer and news about the Heroes Reborn online prequel series, video, and mobile games on Sunday, July 12, at 1:45pm. Creator Tim Kring will be there as well as many of the new cast members including Zachary Levi and Robbie Kay. [Variety]
More Gothic Horror. Awww, yes. Showtime has renewed Penny Dreadful for Season 3. Given that there’s nothing else on TV quite like this beautiful series, I’m thrilled to hear it will continue for at least another nine episodes. The original cast is set to return, and the new season will drop in 2016. [Nerdist]
But He’s Soulful. Los Angeles can be a scary place even without a zombie outbreak, but Shawn Hatosy knows that. After his role in Southland, his new recurring role in Fear the Walking Dead should be cake. According to TV Fanatic, Hatosy will play “a well-intentioned, but out of his element military man with a soulful disposition.” I admit I don’t know what a “soulful disposition” is, but I’m looking forward to finding out. [TV Fanatic]
Zombie Attack. Comic-Con wouldn’t be the same without the walkers from AMC’s The Walking Dead. The series will return to Hall H on Friday, July 10, at 12pm with none other than Chris Hardwick handling moderating duties. So many cast members and executive producers are joining the panel that I’m concerned whether there will be enough room on stage for everyone! And bonus: a panel for Fear the Walking Dead will happen immediately after The Walking Dead panel finishes. Settle in for all the zombies! Remember, Friday is the day Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in Hall H so plan accordingly. And by plan accordingly, I mean get in line right now. [Nerdist]
What a Deal. Elizabeth Banks recently sat in the director’s chair for the first time with Pitch Perfect 2, and with that off her list, she’s stepping into the world of TV. Banks and her producing partner Max Handelman have entered an agreement with Warner Bros. Television for exclusive overall producing. They also recently signed a deal for film production at Universal. [Variety]
