It’s Friday, and your mind is probably occupied by thoughts of settling down in front of the television and watching season two of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix. Let’s get some TV news out of the way so that youâre one step closer. Check out a recap for the first episode of Daredevil in today’s TV-Cap, along with a casting update for American Gods, a renewal and cast addition for Vikings, some words from Melissa McCarthy about Gilmore Girls, and more.
A Dangerous Path. The Starz adaptation of American Gods has cast a key role: Laura Moon. She’ll be played by Emily Browning (Sucker Punch). American Gods author Neil Gaiman said that Laura is an even trickier character on screen than on the page. Sign. Us. Up. [Nerdist]
Demonic Problems. Cinemax’s take on the comic book Outcast will arrive on June 3. Series star Patrick Fugit, along with the showrunner, producers, and a director, came to the Legendary Digital Networks Saloon at SXSW to talk about what readers can expect from the showâit’s all in the above video! We've got some BREAKING NEWS that you'll be really excited about! #Gotham #GothamSeason3 pic.twitter.com/PFZKrAS7Ty

Good News! The city of Gotham usually doesn’t have a reason to put on party hats what with all the villainy, but maybe they can take a moment to celebrate because Fox has renewed the show for a third season. How many more members of Batman’s rogues gallery can they cram into Gotham next year? Let’s start a pool! [Slashfilm]
Bad Timing. Remember how the people making the Gilmore Girls revival for Netflix thought Melissa McCarthy would be too busy and didn’t even bother to ask her to come back? McCarthy briefly discussed it with E! and said by the time it did come up, she actually was too busy. She said, “That was seven years of my life and it was really great. I was proud of that show.” And this is why you always ask! The worst someone will say is no. [A.V. Club]
Tension in the Air. Litchfield has never exactly been a comfy, welcoming place, but it’s had moments where it’s felt like home. But in season four of Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, the prison and its inmates will face new problems. They have several new prisoners and rookie guards, and a culture war is brewing. Photos from the season (it debuts on June 17) show all sorts of serious faces. [Images: Netflix]
How Curious. Hulu has landed the exclusive streaming rights for Curious George. That means they’ll have all nine seasons of the cartoon, plus future seasons, television specialsâall of it! You can catch up with all of George’s antics beginning on March 31.
Another Round! Raise your drinking horns high, Vikings fans, because History has renewed the drama for a fifth 20-episode season. And hey, they’re adding Jonathan Rhys Meyers in a major role (we don’t know who he’ll play yet, so start guessing!) [Nerdist]
Boy Bands and Zombies. In case you’ve forgotten, members of boy bands from the ’90s are coming together to fight zombies in a movie for Syfy. Yep. Dead 7 is a western starring members of N*Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and more, and the first trailer shows it’s about as goofy as you’d expect. It airs on April 1. [Vulture]
Moving On. J.J. Abrams has been slightly busy this past yearâyou know, because of The Force Awakensâbut he’s directing his energy elsewhere these days. He talked to Fortune at SXSW and said he’s hard at work on HBO’s Westworld, which is set to premiere in 2016. He’s excited about the project; it’s been a long-term thing since about 20 years ago when he first met with Michael Crichton about it. Abrams said, “Itâs one of the projects I feel most grateful and lucky to be a part of. What [the directorial team has] done is so stunning and cool.” Ooh! The tease for Westworld is embedded above in case you need to jog your memory. [Den of Geek]
On your marks…

Place Your Bet. Supergirl and The Flash actually will have a race in the likely-to-be-epic crossover episode. A new clip shared by the Supergirl account on Twitter shows them taking off. My money’s on Supergirl. Who do you think will win? [Comic Book Resources]
Going Back. As mentioned, Daredevil arrived on Netflix last night and Punisher left a mark on Hell’s Kitchen. Read my recap of “Bang.” Different kinds of battles happened on Vikings, and you can read about them in Jessica’s recap of “Promised.”
What do you think about the American Gods casting? Did you like the first episode of season two of Daredevil? Share your thoughts with me in the comments!
