TV-Cap: A Map of BROAD CITY, THE WIRE in HD, Plus George Clooney Does DOWNTON ABBEY

It’s Wednesday. It’s raining in Los Angeles — but not on the Internet! Thankfully here life is nothing more than a sun-shiney day ALL the time. I mean how could it not be, what with this sweet map of Broad City‘s New York City, new on The Wire‘s remastered in HD re-release, and a wee clip from George Clooney’s trip to Downton Abbey. So let’s just dive right into the goodness, eh? YOU’VE EARNED IT, I DARESAY, MY FINE CHAP! TUT TUT!

This is Broad City: Broad City, Broad Broad City, bitch! Everyone knows that Abbi and Ilana’s magical broke-ass version of New York City is something special and, perhaps, a bit harder to nail down than other series based in NYC. So thanks to the blessed souls over at Vulture, we now have an Abbi Jacobson-crafted look at the BC girls’ world in map form, complete with locations of every place you ever wanted to know (like Dale’s apartment … and his creepy Ilana shrine room). Worry and wonder no more where the ladies live and do their deeds — it’s all right here! (Click the picture twice to embiggen and trust us you want it big because it’s great and also hilarious). Omar Little, Now in HD: Yup, HBO has officially remastered The Wire into 16×9 full-frame HD. Apparently this has been done in a way that stays “true to the look and feel of the original SD 4×3 version,” which by the looks of Twitter, is a thing people are very concerned about. But still: HD The Wire! Now I really have no excuse for why I haven’t watched it, huh? The whole thing will be available as a marathon and also on HBO Go starting December 26th.

Here Come The Librarians!: I have no idea how I may have missed out on this show’s initial roll-out, but it looks insane in a hilariously campy-good way and so I think I might be interested. Are you? Airing on TNT, it’s called The Librarians (based on the movies of the week that series star Noah Wylie was in) about a bunch of librarians who save the world now that magic has returned to earth. All things I can get on board with — particularly the glorifying of librarians because READING IS FUNDAMENTAL, OK? Anyway it premieres on Sunday at 8PM and feels kinda Buffy-esque so I’m totally putting it in my DVR queue.

Georgie Boy Does Downton: As has long been speculated but never seen, George Clooney made a stop off to the idyllic Yorkshire countryside that is Downton Abbey and made a wee little appearance on the series. Well, sorta. His appearance was actually part of a charity film created for ITV’s annual Text Santa fundraiser campaign. And Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham/Clooney’s Monuments Men costar) directed the whole thing! Ain’t that cute? [Deadline]

Liz Brings the Bad News: Sorry, Kroll Show fans, but this forthcoming third season of the series (airing on January 13th) will be its last. It wasn’t the plan but sorta happened organically, Kroll explained, stating that as character arcs naturally felt like they were coming to an end, it felt the natural place to stop the show because “we wanted to feel like we were going out with the best work that we’ve done.” I know, I know — the heart it breaks without Nick Krolls character comedy, but we’re just going to have to put our Big Kid Britches on and take this one like adults. Until he and Amy Poehler do something truly ~magical~ together (hey, their shows are BOTH ending this year! Timing is everything) and solidify themselves as the characters of our HEARTS. [Vulture]

And Finally: Kyle Anderson chatted up The Flash and Arrow teams about that mega-ultra-super crossover they’re doing. Wanna read what they had to say before you watch part two tonight? (OF COURSE YOU DO!) Ask and ye shall receive: [Nerdist]
