Travel Wisely with This LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD Shield Backpack

Merchandise designed around pop culture is awesome, though not always… let’s say, practical in everyday life. So much of it tends to be bulky unitaskers made from plastic or foam and you wouldn’t believe the looks you get from TSA when you try bringing your replica of Gandalf’s sword and wizard staff on a flight. (You shall not pass, indeed!)

Thankfully, we can usually count on the folks at ThinkGeek to produce a few things that are as useful as they are cool, like this The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild shield backpack.

The backpack is modeled after the the Traveler’s Shield in the game and will likely prove itself more versatile than its pixelated counterpart. While the in-game shield is made of wood, animal hide, and a band of metal, ThinkGeek’s backpack sports 100% cotton shell with 100% polyurethane strap face and 100% polyester strap back, plus mesh, foam, and lining… making it, at the very least, smell a whole lot better.

And while adventurers may want to choose something different for actual battles, the backpack’s dimensions at 18 inches across make it quite suitable to carry most laptops along with whatever else you may need in your journey.BOTWBackpack004

What we can’t help but love about this ThinkGeek creation and exclusive is how well made it looks. As officially licensed merchandise, it seems they really wanted to make sure it was a practical backpack at the end of the day.

Take a look at the gallery below for some more photos and–should you need a trusty shield for an adventure–you can head on over to ThinkGeek and get one for $59.99.
