Tracy Morgan is wasting no time. After his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live over this past weekend, Morgan announced today that he will be traveling across the US and Canada on his “Picking Up the Pieces” tour next year. Tour dates and tickets are already available through Tracy’s website, and the tour is currently slated to run from February 5 to May 28. The site also states that more dates will be added to the list soon. In his press release, Morgan referred to getting back to comedy like getting back on a bike he fell off of, “You don’t forget where the pedals are.”
Morgan surprised everyone when he appeared at the Emmy awards last month, and was greeted with a standing ovation. It was his first public appearance after a devastating car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014. Morgan’s vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer. The accident left Morgan in a coma for two weeks, but killed James McNair, a fellow comedian and friend to Tracy. Morgan’s recovery from the incident was a long and arduous road that many feared he would never truly come back from. This was something even Morgan himself touched on in his opening monologue in the recent Saturday Night Live appearance.
It’s safe to say that Tracy Morgan’s return may be one of the biggest feel-good stories of the year, and we wish him the best of luck in the world with his new tour.
