Tom Hiddleston Tries Out John le Carre in THE NIGHT MANAGER Trailer

Next month, Tom Hiddleston returns to cinemas in the Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light. But Hiddleston’s fans won’t have to wait long to see his follow-up project: The Night Manager is coming to AMC in April.

The Night Manager is a six-part miniseries starring Hiddleston as a former soldier named Jonathan Pine, who is recruited by British Intelligence to go undercover and investigate billionaire Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie). Roper is an international arms dealer, and he’s also an extremely dangerous individual who pulls Pine into his web.

AMC has released the first full trailer for The Night Manager, which gives Laurie a chance to show off his sense of menace as Pine gets closer to his target and emotionally involved with Roper’s mistress, Jed (Elizabeth Debicki).

The Night Manager is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by John Le Carré, the writer of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, and The Constant Gardener. AMC and BBC are co-producing the adaptation of The Night Manager, and they’ve lined up an impressive supporting cast that includes Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, and David Harewood.

Director Susanne Bier and screenwriter David Farr adapted The Night Manager for television, and British fans will get an early opportunity to see the miniseries on BBC One beginning on Sunday, February 21. American fans will have to wait until Tuesday, April 19, as AMC’s original programing expands into a new night.
