Tom Felton Joining THE FLASH for Season 3

The following post spoils the end of The Flash season 2 because we’re talking about season 3! It’s integral to the understanding of the future of the show to talk about the last episode, specifically the cliffhanger. Soooo if you don’t want to be spoiled, please quit reading. Are we good? Cool!

We were super duper stoked by the game-changing second season finale of the CW’s The Flash, when Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) all but rewrote the whole history of the show and his life by returning to the night his mother died and saving her instead of letting her pass, negating everything that happened in the subsequent years. But what ramifications will that have on the show? We already know that season three will be “Flashpoint,” and now we know someone new who’s joining the cast: Harry Potter‘s Draco Malfoy, Tom Felton.

TV Line confirmed that Felton will join the show as a series regular and play a character named Julian Dorn, “a fellow CSI at the Central City Police Department who suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation.” That will be interesting to see Barry have to hide his secret identity from someone presumably smart enough to figure it out, and in the same field as him.

The other unknown is, well, the character of Julian Dorn. The name appears nowhere in any DC Comics Wiki and it’s not immediately clear who he could be a stand in for. However, we learned early on that the Arrow Universe doesn’t mind pulling a fast one on people, with Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) revealed to be Eobard Thawne, aka the Reverse-Flash, after a few episodes. Or maybe he will be just a wholly new character (though we doubt it).

The Flash had recently announced that Cavanagh would return for season 3 to play some version of Wells, and Violett Beane would be brought on as a regular to play Jesse Wells, the person who will very well become Jesse Quick, another speedster. Felton, aside from the Potter films, has recently starred in the first season of TNT’s Murder in the First and the historical drama Labyrinth.

Let us know what you think of Felton joining The Flash in the comments below!

We totes called the “Flashpoint” thing before it happened.
