Are you a Matt Smith fan or a David Tennant devotee? Â Whichever Whovian side you might land on, Titan Comics will have you covered this July when they release two new Doctor Who comic series featuring all-new adventures of both beloved doctors.
The first new ongoing series is Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor, featuring the adventures of the good doctor as played by David Tennant. Series writer Nick Abadzis (Laika) and fan-favorite Elena Casagrande (Angel, Doctor Who, Star Trek) are the Tenth Doctor’s creative team. According to the official synopsis, “Gabriella Gonzalez is stuck in a dead-end job in her familyâs New York Laundromat, dreaming of college and bigger, better and brighter things. So when a strange man with an even stranger big blue box barges into her life on the eve of the Day of the Dead celebrations â talking about an infestation of psychic aliens â she seizes her chance for adventure with both hands. After Donnaâs tragic exit, the Doctor thought he was done with new companions. But Gabby Gonzalez is going to prove him wrong⦠if she survives the night…”
Also on sale this summer is Titan Comics’ second ongoing Doctor Who series, this time featuring the Matt Smith version of the character,  Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor, from the creative team of writers Al Ewing (Loki: Agent of Asgard, Mighty Avengers) and Rob Williams (Miss Fury, The Royals: Masters of War) and artist Simon Fraser (Nikolai Dante, Grindhouse). In the first storyline, Alice Obiefune has just lost her mother when the Doctor explodes into her life. But what does this grieving young woman have to do with the career of a ’70s musician, an amnesiac alien, and a terrifying cosmic threat?
Titan Comics has a lot of great titles coming this July, Sally of the Wasteland #1, Springheeled Jack, Four Horsemen, and Alien Legion, among others, but all eyes are on the new Doctor Who ongoing books, as Titan reminds fans why they fell in love with the series in the first place, just as the television show prepares to move on to a whole new era. Both new Doctor Who books land July 20th.

Hey if you’re in New York, Carmine Street Comics is having an 11th Doctor signing with Simon Fraser! https://www.facebook.com/events/288749121304278/
Definitely the 10th Doctor. I love Matt Smith, but Tennant is the Doctor in my eyes. I’ve got every comic, graphic novel, novel and audio book with Tennant’s Doctor. This can’t come fast enough!
I’m starting to get a little sick of the 10th and the 11th doctors. As great as they were, mostly David, I definitely think that more focus needs to be shed on some of the more previous doctors especially eight and then leading into nine, since he was the first regeneration of the “new” Doctor Who series.
I agree 100%. I would love to see the 8th’s adventures, also the Time War. When the War Doctor regenerated from 8, he looked like he was in his 30’s-40’s. When we see him in the episode, he’s at least been fighting the war for over 30 years. Show me THAT!
I’m bummed that IDW won’t be putting out anymore Doctor Who comics, but I’ll wait and see how these are before I pass final judgement. I do believe that they should focus on some of the previous Doctors for a little while, because I feel like all we’ve gotten in the last few years is nothing but 10 & 11 comics. I’d like to see a series featuring the 8th Doctor, and his adventures leading up to the Time War. (They could even adapt some of the audio drama)
