Previously in her film career, Tina Fey has portrayed a math teacher in Mean Girls, a Princeton admissions officer in Admission, and a party-throwing sibling in Sisters. With that in mind, the last place we’d expect to see Fey is a battlefield, but alas, that’s where she ends up in the trailer for her upcoming movie, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

It makes sense, though, as her role is definitely a fish-out-of-water kind of situation. Fey plays a reporter who, as her boss puts it, is one of the “unmarried, childless personnel in this bureau,” so she volunteers to head to Afghanistan and be the network’s war correspondent as an escape from her mundane and unfulfilling life.

In her journey, there’s an initial culture clash: Fey’s character is called a whore and told to cover up, despite wearing a conservative outfit that literally reveals only her face and hands. It also turns out that she is “a serious piece of ass” in Afghanistan, charting at a “borderline 10,” as opposed to the “6, 7” she would be in New York. But inevitably, she seems to find her comfort zone, get her story, and even report on the first licensed female driver in Kabul, who unfortunately crashes the car immediately. She also yells and shoots a machine gun, which we’ve always wanted to see Tina Fey do.

The movie also stars Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman, Christopher Abbott, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfred Molina, Nicholas Braun, and Sheila Vand. It is also an adaptation of The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a memoir written by American journalist Kim Barker about her time reporting in those areas. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
