We’re all very excited for the premiere of the second half of the seventh series of Doctor Who, as surely most of you are as well. The first episode, “The Bells of St. John,” will air Saturday, March 30th, with new episodes following each Saturday for eight straight weeks. But, if you’re too excited and can’t wait a week for episode two, then you are in luck: three (yes, 3) new books featuring the Eleventh Doctor will hit bookshelves on April 2nd, the Tuesday following the premiere.

The novels are The Plague of the Cybermen by Justin Richards, The Dalek Generation by Nicholas Briggs, and Shroud of Sorrow by Tommy Donbavand. All three authors are veterans of sci-fi/horror writing. Richards has written several Doctor Who tie-ins and is the creative consultant for BBC Books’ range of Who novels; Donbavand is known for writing the childrens’ horror novels Scream Street and, apparently, a huge fan of the show; and Briggs should be a stranger to no one familiar with Doctor Who, having written about Doctor Who since the ’80s, being the executive producer of the Big Finish audio range, and providing the voice for practically every monster in the series since 2005, notably the Daleks.
