THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE Theme Goes Metal

For over 30 years, Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends has been a popular children’s TV series all over the world, and its anthropomorphic trains and vehicles are about as tame as you can possibly get. Now it’s time to change that and give Thomas the full metal upgrade!

Eric Calderone (a.k.a. Erock) has released his heavy metal cover of the classic Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends theme, which takes a few entertaining liberties with the original composition. You may also notice a little Ozzy Osborne in there as well. On his YouTube page, Calderone wrote “3 things: 1. I am terrified of Thomas and everyone else in Chuggington. 2. I am TERRIFIED of Thomas. 3. Yes ‘Crazy Train’ is in there, trains, get it? Ha. Ha. Thanks for everything! You’re the best!”

For the benefit of our readers who may not remember the Thomas the Tank Engine theme and for those who have never seen it, here’s the show’s original opening sequence.

Earlier this year, we covered an unintentionally creepy creation of a Japanese sculptor named Y_NAKAJIMA, which put Thomas’ face on a RC race car motor, allowing it to seemingly drive on walls. Now we kind of want to hear Erock’s Thomas the Tank Engine cover over this video, so hit play on both videos at the same time and you can live that dream.

Calderone is one of our favorite metal cover artists on YouTube, and  you can check out more of his music at his YouTube channel or visit his official site at Metalyze.com.
