This Week at NerdMelt Theater!

Hey fans of comedy and awesome things! We have another fantastic lineup here at NerdMelt Theater. Check it out, even if you aren’t a fan of awesome things, which would be strange.

Friday at 9:00, set sail with Booze Cruise!

Laughs ahoy! Come sail the high seas as a passenger on Booze Cruise!  Ken Shultz from NerdMelt’s TELETHON! hosts the ship’s comedy variety show hour featuring an eclectic drunken meld of stand-up, sketch, music and more!

Featuring performances by Johnny Pemberton, Ricky Carmona, Tyler Greene, The Doorknockers (Randy Liedtke & Davey Johnson) and HORSE COCK, videos by Women and The Birthday Boys, and if you’re good, surprise special guests!

Free! RSVP here!

Sunday at 7:00 is Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy.

Free!

Monday at 9:00, drive down to Harmontown!

People always ask us “What is Harmontown?”, and that’s a tough question to answer, but here’s the closest thing we’ve got: we gave the creator of Community a night to do whatever he wanted, and what we got was Harmontown.

Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, vodka-soaked step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests (Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs have all stopped in), forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”

$10!

Tuesday at 7:00, test your knowledge at Super Nerd Trivia Game Show Fun Time 9000!

We’re cutting the geek from the meek on the hottest new trivia show sweeping L.A. Spend half an hour with Benjamin Dunn as he hurls questions at our contestants for fabulous prizes*. Questions like: Name all four Ghostbusters; What does TARDIS stand for; and Complete That Meme! Who knows, your name could be drawn and you can be part of the show!!! Next show is July 24th at the Nerdmelt theater; be there or be lame!!!

Featuring special guest Jackie Kashian (The Dork Forest)!

*Caution: prizes may not be fabulous.

$5!

Tuesday at 8:00 is This Show Is Your Show! With Matt Bennett!

This show is more than a show. It’s your show. Join Matt Bennett (Victorious, The Virginity Hit), Matt Bennett’s friends, and even some special guests for an hour of music, comedy, interviews, and general Matt Bennett-ness.

The July 24th lineup includes: Justin Willman, Nick Kroll, Shelby Fero, Sela Shiloni and Coy Jandreau, Zed Cutsinger, and Moses Storm!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Wednesday at 8:30 is another The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

This week, the inevitable Jonah Ray and unmountable Kumail Nanjiani hosts Andres du Bouchet, Bennie Arthur, DC Pierson, MC Mr Napkins, and Tom Wilson!

$8!

Thursday at 8:00 don’t be misunderstood at Risk! Storytelling Show!

RISK! is the show where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public– stories they’d normally only tell to close friends. At the RISK! Live shows, the brightest stars of TV, film and literature drop their usual act and show a side of themselves you’ve never seen before. RISK! Live in LA is hosted by comedians Kumail Nanjiani and Pete Holmes.  July’s topic, “Misunderstood”, will be touched upon these great storytellers: Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911, The State), Baratunde Thurston (“How To Be Black”, The Onion), Aparna Nancherla (Last Comic Standing), Cooper Barnes (In Living Color) & Emmett Short (AWDEFilms)!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Thank you all so much for your continued support of the theater. Follow us on Twitter and track us on our blog for more info about any of these shows!
