Storytelling, TV creators, art, and comedy galore- this is what you’ll find at NerdMelt this week!

Tonight at 7pm, it’s the opening of drippy/sweaty, an art show!

DIKLIK art and Meltdown Comics are proud to present drippy/sweaty, a new works exhibition of emerging and established artists showcasing the diverse, grotesque and adorable incarnations of all that things drippy and sweaty.

FREE!

Saturday at 8pm, it’s Walking the Room live!

Sunday at 5pm, it’s the Nerdist Writer’s Panel!

Spend your Sunday afternoons learning from the best at the Nerdist Writer’s Panel! Join moderator Ben Blacker as he hosts esteemed panelists discussing topics like different types of writing, how they got started, what inspires them, the business side of writing, and more. Panelists will also answer your questions and give some helpful tips and tricks! This series is a must for any hopeful writer in LA, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit 826LA.

Scheduled to appear:
Marti Noxon (Buffy; Mad Men; Glee)
Danny Zuker (Modern Family)
Craig Silverstein (creator, Nikita, Terra Nova)

Then 7pm Sunday is the very popular Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.

FREE!

Monday at 8pm, it’s the return of Harmontown!

People always ask us “What is Harmontown?”, and that’s a tough question to answer, but here’s the closest thing we’ve got:

The countdown continues due to overwhelming demand: Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon (creator of NBC’s Community) and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, drunken step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests, forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”.

$10, and get your tickets soon, this one may sell out early.

Tuesday at 8pm, it’s the RISK! Storytelling Show!

RISK! is the show where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public– stories they’d normally only tell to close friends. At the RISK! Live shows, the brightest stars of TV, film and literature drop their usual act and show a side of themselves you’ve never seen before. RISK! Live in LA is hosted by comedians Kumail Nanjiani and Pete Holmes. RISK! is also a free audio podcast hosted by Kevin Allison of MTV’s The State. The podcast is currently getting hundreds of thousands of downloads each month. Slate.com called RISK! “jaw-dropping, hysterically funny, and just plain touching.” Come see RISK! Live at NerdMelt to see why!

This month’s theme: Family
Scheduled to appear:
Margaret Cho
Jackie Kashian
Kevin Avery
Curtis Gwinn

$10!

Wednesday at 5pm, it’s the culmination of the Harold Clinic that’s been happening at NerdMelt every day with the Harold Clinic Showcase Show!

Then, Wednesday at 8:30, it’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

As our way of giving thanks, this week’s Meltdown, hosted by Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, will be completely and one hundred percent FREE! Come and give thanks for Duncan Trussel, Mike Henry, Katie Crown, Matt Fulchiron, Barry Rothbart, Ed Salazar, and Matt Braunger!

We’re off Thursday and Friday of next week to give thanks, but there will be a Walking Dead pop-up store set up in NerdMelt for all you zombie fans out there! Instead of battling jerks at Best Buy, come get the stuff you actually want at Meltdown Comics instead!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and see you around! Check us out on Twitter and our other home, NerdMeltLA.com!
