This Week at NerdMelt Theater!

Still recovering after seeing that awesome Supermoon last week? Well we here at NerdMelt theater have some super shows to satiate your super needs!

Friday at 8:00 is another edition of Set List!

From the minds of Paul Provenza and Troy Conrad… SET LIST is back from sold-out shows at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, and a regular run in London. Top comics are given a never-before-seen “set list” of strange and outrageous topics the second they walk onstage, and perform seamlessly as if its the act they normally do, while the audience follows their list on the projection screen. Complete comedy in the moment. The lineup includes: Carlos Alazraqui, Wil Anderson, Matt Kirshen, Rick Overton, Kira Soltanovich, Ron Zimmerman, Kumail Nanjiani, Ben Gleib, Brody Stevens and Rove McManus.

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Saturday at 8:00 prepare for lunar colonization at Harmontown!

People always ask us “What is Harmontown?”, and that’s a tough question to answer, but here’s the closest thing we’ve got: we gave the creator of Community a night to do whatever he wanted, and what we got was Harmontown. Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, vodka-soaked step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests (Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs have all stopped in), forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”.

SOLD OUT!

Sunday at 7:00 is Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy.

Free!

Monday at 8:00 come out and support your favorite comics at The Montreal Showcase Show!

Montreal’s annual Just for Laughs Comedy Festival is scouting talent in LA. Come see some of what our fair city has to offer for a special low price! (Lineup to be announced closer to the show!)

$5!

Tuesday at 8:00, discover that Greg Proops is The Smartest Man in the World!

It’s just Greg Proops and you. There’s no fan fare. Proops takes center stage at small table and chair setup with a single microphone. Then he’s off. An hour of great conversation that flies by at a break neck clip. He crams the feeling of a great two-way conversation into the lecture-style format of a one-way conversation.

Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. The Proopcast has been to Australia, New Zealand, Montreal, London, Edinburgh, Austin, Cleveland, San Francisco and off the coast of St. Martin in the Caribbean all in one year. Now you must fall.

Be there and experience joy for once in your life.

$10!

Wednesday at 8:30 is The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

This week, Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani welcome Jay Larson, Brent Weinbach, from NYC, Sara Schaefer, KP Anderson, Jackie Kashian and Anthony Jeselnik!

$8!

Thursday at 8:00, meet new friends at Paul and Storm Talk About Some Stuff for Five to Ten Minutes (On Average)!

Join nerd comedy/music duo Paul and Storm as they host a live recording of their long-running and longer-betitled podcast, Paul and Storm Talk About Some Stuff for Five to Ten Minutes (On Average). Will there be music? Yes! Will there be lengthy discussions of minimally-relevant topics and personal grudges? You bet! Will there be SPECIAL GUESTS? Maybe/hopefully/probably!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Thank you all so much for your continued support of the theater. Follow us on Twitter and track us on our blog for more info about any of these shows!
