This week at the NerdMelt Showroom at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles promises to be a week of amazing, with a live table read of Bobby Bitter, Greg Proops, the Comedy Film Nerds, a top secret screening of Bobcat Goldthwait’s new film, and more!
May 11th at 6pm it’s Booze, Broads, and Blow: An Evening of Showbiz Recollections with Comedy Legend Bobby Bitter!
Through the narcissistic recollections of a politically-incorrect former TV sitcom superstar who’s now an age-defying 92-year-old searing thru Hollywood consuming volcanic loads of booze, broads, and blow, HERE’S BOBBY!…THE LOST EPISODES satirizes ageism, sexism, racism, homophobia, and America’s celebrity-obsessed pop culture. Join us for a live cast read of “Here’s Bobby!…The Lost Episodes,” a new retro cartoon sitcom, performed by comedy greats Carlos Alazraqui! Grey Delisle! Andy Kindler! Tom Kenny! Cedric Yarbrough! Jill Talley! Samm Levine! Dana Gould! Rick Overton! Larry “Bubbles” Brown! Plus surprise guests!
$8 in advance, $10 at the door.
May 11th at 9pm it’s Horrible Movie Night!
Shout at the movies!  We screen the worst films you’ve never seen, and invite YOU to roast them — the best one-liners of the night will win prizes.  If you like MST3K and RiffTrax, this is your scene! Your hosts for the evening, John Mathot (Disney’s Phineas & Ferb) and Susan Wright (The Because Show podcast), along with guest stand-up comedians and co-host Rob Schrab (creator The Sarah Silverman Program, Channel 101), will feature 1987’s Enemy Territory: It’s kinda like Die Hard in the projects, but funnier.  It features Jan-Michael Vincent, Tony Todd (Candyman), and the first and only starring role for Ray Parker Jr. (yeah, the Ghostbusters song guy).  Plus there’s FREE POPCORN! Come on down to the show — we guarantee it to be hilarious territory!
$8 in advance, $10 at the door.
 May 12th at 8pm it’s Harmontown!
What is Harmontown? It’s awesome. It’s unique. It’s one of a kind. It’s something only Dan Harmon (creator of Community and the upcoming Rick and Morty) and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) can do. It’s a different show every time and it’s every week. Lucky us! Playing Dungeons and Dragons? It’s happened. Dan Harmon freestyle rapping? Yup, that too. Calling Chevy Chase from stage? Happened…more than once. A celebrity guest? Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs among others have all stopped in. Getting super personal with an intimate audience? Always. It’s Harmontown. It’s awesome. It’s unique. Don’t miss a single week.
$10.

May 16th at 7pm it’s Greg Proops Is The Smartest Man In The World Proopcast!
It’s just Greg Proops and you. There’s no fan fare. Proops takes center stage at a small table-and-chair setup with a single microphone. Then he’s off for an hour of great conversation that flies by at a breakneck clip. He crams the feeling of a great two-way conversation into the lecture-style format of a one-way conversation. Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. The Proopcast has been to Australia, New Zealand, Montreal, London, Edinburgh, Austin, Cleveland, San Francisco, and off the coast of St. Martin in the Caribbean all in one year. Now you must fall.
Be there and experience joy for once in your life.
$10.

May 17th at 8pm it’s Prompter!
Troy Conrad’s newest creation!  Comics use a teleprompter to deliver a TED Talk-style presentation.  When the teleprompter unexpectedly freezes, the performer must rely on their ability to improvise and continue their talk on the subject until the prompter comes back on.  How much fun can comics have with a supposedly “broken” teleprompter and an absurd premise?  A lot, it turns out. May 17th, catch Wil Anderson, Dana Gould, Laurie Kilmartin, Mike McShane, Baron Vaughn, Jon Daly, and special guests!
$8 in advance, $10 at the door.
