Saturday at 2:00 is Rookie Magazine in L.A. With Tavi Gevinson!

Zine Fest will be partnering up with Tavi Gevinson, Meltdown Comics, and Drawn and Quarterly to host a zine making workshop at the Rookie reading! You’ll get to make zines in a self-lead workshop with the LAZF crew, enjoy readings from Rookie by Tavi and get your book signed! It’s going to be an awesome event, and we’d love to see you there.

Sunday at 5:00 is The Nerdist Writer’s Panel!

The Nerdist Writer’s Panel series is an informal chat moderated by Ben Blacker (co-creator of The Thrilling Adventure Hour; writer for Supah Ninjas, Supernatural, among others) with professional writers about the process and business of writing. Covering TV, film, comic books, music, novels, and any other kind of writing about which you care to hear. This week we have BJ Novak (The Office), Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken; Mad), Elaine Ko (Modern Family; Family Guy), and more panelists TBA!  The line-up is subject to change. And as always, proceeds from the live panels benefit 826LA, the national non-profit tutoring program.

Sunday at 7:00 is The Nerdist Open Mic!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy. Sign up at 7pm, lottery at 7:30!

Monday at 8:00 is Harmontown!

Yup, that’s right, it’s weekly, and it’s a podcast too! Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon (creator of Community) and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, vodka-soaked step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests (Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs have all stopped in), forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”

Tuesday at 8:00 is This Show Is Your Show! With Matt Bennett!

This show is more than a show. It’s your show. Join Matt Bennett (Victorious, The Virginity Hit), Matt Bennett’s friends, and even some special guests, for an hour of music, comedy, interviews, and general Matt Bennett-ness. With Moses Storm, DC Pierson, Jessie Ennis and Sarah Ramos, Zed Cutsinger, Jeff Dye, Sela Shiloni, Zack Pearlman, and Max Landis!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Thursday at 7:00 is The Beards of Comedy!

The Beards of Comedy (Joe Zimmerman, TJ Young, Andy Sandford, and Dave Stone) deliver smart, quirky and refreshing humor deeply rooted in stand-up and lightly blended with avant-garde elements of music, sketch and improv. In 2009 the Beards released Comedy for People; they recently debuted on Bob & Tom and released second album Cardio Mix on Comedy Central Records. Featuring special guest Maria Bamford!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Thursday at 9:00 is Set List!

From the minds of Paul Provenza and Troy ConradSet List is back from sold-out shows at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, and a regular run in London. Top comics are given a never-before-seen “set list” of strange and outrageous topics the second they walk onstage, and perform seamlessly as if its the act they normally do, while the audience follows their list on the projection screen. Complete comedy in the moment. This week features Matt Braunger, Ari Shaffir, Ben Gleib, The Sklar Brothers, Alonzo Bodden, Dana Gould, Rick Overton, and your host Matt Kirshen!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Thank you all so much for your continued support of the showroom. Follow us on Twitter and track us on our blog for more info about any of these shows!
