This Week at NerdMelt Showroom!

We have a strong lineup this week at NerdMelt Showroom. We’re talking “rip a phonebook in half” strong. Don’t be surprised if you see this week’s lineup tossing around a medicine ball like it was nothing. Check it out!

Friday at 9:00 is IMPRO(vs)TANDUP!

IMPRO(vs)TANDUP brings the best improvisers and stand-up comedians together for one incredible show. Watch improvisers and stand ups do what they do best and then switch it up and try their hand at what the other does best. And best of all, the audience determines which discipline wins the night, improv or stand up.
Hosted by Christian Spicer (Weekend Confirmed, Double Jump) and Rajan Dharni (PBS, Eleanor)! Improv team Dierkes & Fernie (Dominic Dierkes from Derrick Comedy, Workaholics & Alex Fernie from Key & Peele and Terriers) vs. stand up comedians Barry Rothbart (Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Punk’d), Ben Gleib (Chelsea Lately, Ice Age Continental Drift, Last Week on Earth) & Hampton Yount (Esquire top comedians of 2012, Ridiculousness)!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Sunday at 7:00 is Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Showroom. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani are frequent drop ins), and the magic that is live comedy.

Free!

Monday at 8:00 is Harmontown!

Yup, that’s right, it’s weekly! Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon (creator of Community) and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, vodka-soaked step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests (Allison Brie, Donald Glover, and Gillian Jacobs have all stopped in), forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”

$10!

Tuesday at 7:30 is The Dork Forest With Jackie Kashian LIVE!

The Dork Forest is the podcast that features Dork-on-Dork Dialogue with comedian and host Jackie Kashian. She is interested in whatever dorky thing folks want to talk about. Guests speak to their love of books, TV, Movies, Comic books, websites, food, wrestling, cars, action figures and bees. There is room for all in The Dork Forest. This is a safe space.  This September brings you another live The Dork Forest from The Nerdist Showroom at Meltdown Comics. September’s Dork Guest is Maria Bamford!

$10!

Tuesday at 8:00 is RISK! Storytelling Show!

Risk! is the show where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public. Stories they’d normally only tell to close friends. At the Risk! live shows, the brightest stars of TV, film and literature drop their usual act and show a side of themselves you’ve never seen before.  In September, the topic of “Madness” will be touched upon by these great storytellers: Aubrey O’Day (platinum selling artist, Broadway/Reality star), Giulia Rozzi (VH1, MTV, “Stripped Stories”), Jillian Lauren (author, “Some Girls: My Life In A Harem”), and Melinda Hill (America’s Got Talent).

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Wednesday at 8:30 is The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

This week, Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani welcome Jackie Kashian, Giulia Rozzi, Adam Cayton-Holland, Ryan Singer, from NYC, Mark Normand, a sneak peek at a College Humor video, and Myq Kaplan.

$8!
