This Week at NerdMelt!

Hello kiddies! Would you like to know what’s happening at our little nerdy haven on Sunset Blvd? Well let me tell you!

Tonight at 8pm, we have Left, Right, and Ridiculous with KPFK’s Jimmy Dore!

Join Jimmy Dore and a celebrity panel as they make fun of other celebrities, today’s news makers, and our favorite cultural jackasses, with a raucous blend of stand-up, sketch, and video clips of people saying some of he dumbest shit you’ve ever heard. This month’s guests include Frank Conniff of MST3K, David Feldman of Real Time with Bill Maher and The Daily Show, Paul Gilmartin of Dinner and a Movie, and Ben Zelevansky of KPFK!

A portion of the benefits of tonight’s show benefit KPFK!

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Then on Saturday at 8pm, we welcome Enter Spider!

From the mind of Matt McKenna, you’re entering a stand-up comedy show on the edge of time and space; in a place where light and shadow are often mistaken for a biracial gay couple; where the lineup of comics are from all walks of life… and death. There is no two drink minimum here, there is only the maximum occupancy of the Imagination! You are entering… ENTER SPIDER.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Sunday at 5pm, we have the popular Nerdist Writers Panel!

Spend your Sunday afternoons learning from the best at the Nerdist Writing Panel! Join moderator Ben Blacker as he hosts esteemed panelists discussing topics like different types of writing, how they got started, what inspires them, the business side of writing, and more. Panelists will also answer your questions and give some helpful tips and tricks! This series is a must for any hopeful writer in LA, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit 826LA.

Scheduled to appear:
Zack Whedon
(Deadwood; Fringe)
Jeremy Carver
(developer, Being Human)
John Rogers
(creator, Leverage)

$15, but if you’re a Syracuse University student and bring your ID, you get in for $5!

Then at 7pm on Sunday, we have Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.

FREE!

Monday at 8pm is the return of Harmontown.

People always ask us “What is Harmontown?”, and that’s a tough question to answer, but here’s the closest thing we’ve got:
The countdown continues due to overwhelming demand: Attend a town meeting in a land free of brevity, where Mayor Dan Harmon (creator of NBC’s Community) and Comptroller Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway) take another small, drunken step toward colonizing the moon. Evening may include ineffectual rants, songs, shameful stories, special guests, forehead sweat and repeated exposure to the phrases “like” , “uh”, “sort of” and “you know.”.

$10

Tuesday at 8pm is NerdMelt’s own chat show Nerdy Secrets!

Ever wanted to know what your favorite creative types go geek-tastic over but were too timid to ask? Sure you did, which is why hosts Mo Fathelbab and DC Pierson will take that burden off of your shoulders. Come enjoy our very own talk show as we welcome some of the comedians/writers/performers of NerdMelt as they stop doing their act and start getting chatty.
Guests will include
Scott Lobdell (DC Comics)
Katie Leclerc (Switched at Birth)
Greg Cipes, who not only does voices on the Teen Titans Cartoon Network show, he also is Roseanne Barr’s yoga instructor and lives in a tent in her backyard, as seen in her new Lifetime reality show

$8 in advance, $10 at the door

Wednesday at 8:30 is The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

At our weekly standup showcase, hosted by Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, we welcome Howard Kremer, Joe Mande in from NYC, Eliza Skinner, Al Jackson, Dan St Germain in from NYC, and Todd Glass.

$8

And finally, Thursday at 8pm we celebrate the return of Carnyville!

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of a carnival. Creepy dudes running creepy rides while creepy clowns smile creepily. David Koechner (Anchorman, The Naked Trucker & T-Bone) and Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Conan) join forces to recreate the golden era of life along the midway. With stand-up, special guests, music, and a creepy sense of creepitude. Join us, won’t you?

Featuring Chelsea Peretti, Pat Healy, Jim Turner, Mark Fite, and The Poubelle Twins!

$10

That’s what you’ll be doing for the next seven days! Check our Twitter, our blog, and our ticket site to learn everything you need to know about what’s happening at Nerdist Headquarters- NerdMelt!
